LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

Just tighten the tensioner bolts with the supplied hex key thing supplied with the MX. I have had no problem with the 34UM95 on the Ergotron MX. You can get the bottom several inches off the desk surface at max height as well.

I don't see any reason wy you could not position the monitor left, middle or right on your desk providing you clamp the MX base in the right place initially.

This is how high I have it set, it will go a couple more inches higher for the record:

At a certain place this can be had for £650 which seems like a great price to me and im very tempted...unfortunately iv never dealt with this place before so its always a risk but that is a great price!

My only worry still is backlight bleed and sync issues that people have had where they would see a sync line down the center of the screen.

Never heard of the sync line issue until you just brought it up. Hmmm

Can't say it's ever been mentioned here, or the Mac forum I frequent.

Its been mentioned on HardForum Its basically a sync type line that would appear in the center of the screen like the LG model is processing the two sides of the screen seperatly.

According to Paecelforce tracking my repaired 34UM95 is in the UK now, I expect Monday delivery is on the cards.

The complimentary monitor and additional surprise gift should be end of the week though I've not had a reply back from Heinz yet. It looks like he's been off since my last email from him - Hope everything is ok!

Is there any reason at all to get this over the aoc version if u don't care about the hardware lut or thunderbolt.... Plus the aoc version may have less bleed and it has the better stand... I really want a 34 ultrawide... But there seems like no reason to get the LG apart from the fact it's available now and I don't want to wait till October. But I might end up saving 300...so I'd be basically paying 300 more for a not as good version just because it's available now lol.

 Good thing I have the day off work, plenty to time to play around and see what LG Germany repaired.

So....

... My repaired monitor has come back to me from Germany today. While the bleed on the top left, right and lower right side of the display is fixed, the left side now has extra bleed along the bottom corner :/ :/

Here is a photo showing you guys what it is like:

I'm really unhappy about this and to add to this, the panel had hand smudges where a tech had obviously handled it but not wiped it. The soft wrapping it comes in as well was all scrunched up and the documentation, CD that was in a sleeve from the factory was loose inside the box...

I've emailed the LG Germany rep who is sending me the complimentary monitor by end of this week after personally checking it for bleed about this and will likely wait until that arrives and decide what to do. I will likely keep the one he sends me and relocate this one as a spare or if I decide to sell it on then it will be sold at a significant price drop.

On another note, I wanted to see what a matte lower bezel strip with no logos would look like so masked off the bottom strip:

No gloss and no logos definitely looks better. Will do the same to the new one once that arrives

It's too much hassle sending it back, I suppose I could do though since it will be spare so not being used. I'll arrange it at the end of the week as it would be a shame to not get it sorted (again) under warranty I guess.

That sucks man... it looks like it would be perfect if it wasn't for that bottom left part.

I was getting very tempted about getting one of these this week but the bleed issues really worry me when paying so much for a monitor.
I want to wait for the AOC which might be £300 less but that might not be available for ages yet. If only these didn't have such bleed.

I'v always found LG TV's and monitors to be poor quality though. So many of there TV's have had issues aswell...making them too thin and seeing bands through the screen.

I went through two 55inch LG TV's that had banding before I eventually settled for a Sony so my experience with LG isn't great.

Perhaps 2nd time lucky with the repair then :p I'll log into the computeruniverse portal later and start the RMA process again, this time I will include printouts of the photo showing where the bleed is and I'll circle it and make note to mention about checking it before sending it back...
