LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

Thats where I got mine from (for £4K) - its about 10miles from here - the 2011 model - 58PFL9956 came out later but changed little. It might show as available but its not on their search engine on the main site - so it might be a ghost link. Richersounds used to sell them too when they got discontinued - for £1K

I have an update on the firmware update someone mentioned might be available to flash ourselves.

Dear Robbie

First time hearing about this topic. Our Service team has no info up to now. I will ask Korea to get an answer about this.

Keep you informed.

Ah you may actually be right! Seems the mist logical thing to use "with" the display :)

I have an i1 Display Pro anyway so will have to see what one they send of it is one.

I thought IPS glow was just part of the IPS technology and it can't be fixed ?

Considering mrk has pretty much none now and mine is like this when maxed out im sure its something that can be fixed or at least something that shouldn't be this bad....I mean if the top left corner and even the top right corner can look that decent why should the bottom corners be so bad......

Max brightness? Put it on 20 brightness and take the same exposure again then see :p

nobody uses a monitor at 100 brightness, even bleed testing at that is extreme. I only test for bleed with calibrated settings for this reason.

IPS glow is no different to before. It's the bleed which they sorted on all but 1 corner as per my earlier photo/gif!

I did that two pages ago lol I posted a 100% and 20% pic If the top right corner can look that clean theres no reason why the bottom corners should be so bad.

Its even noticible at 0% brightness

heres it at 20% brightness

Also mrk did you say you have your monitor with you now? Would you be able to take a picture at 100% brightness just to compare? Im curious how others look if anyone else who has one of these can do a 100% brightness pic.

Ah I see! Yes I can, if you let me know what your photo's exposure settings were for the 100% brightness image I will replicate the same exposure to keep it fair.

Edit*
Ignore that last part, wouldn't work, different imaging sensors, won't get same results either way so I'll just take a photo anyway that replicates what I see in person. Will do that in a bit.

Does it look worse at the bottom as you have not taken the photo straight on but looking down?

its worse at the bottom always even when I look normally without the camera I can see the glow always at the bottom but at the top I cant notice any.

I just got an email from LG customer service saying they will fix it for me but I don't know if I should do that... If I get another from OCUK it could be worse than the one I have now and that would mean nothing would be fixed.
Do you think it would be better to send it off to LG and if they can improve it then it should be a much better choice than risking another one that could be even worse.
I guess its just the frustration of having to send it off after owning it for 2 days lol.

Also mrk ....what do you have your response time set to? Mines at the default of medium at the moment.
Iv read that high causes ghosting.

Thanks it would really help me decide if im going to replace it or send it off to LG if I could see anyone else who has this same monitor take a pic in the dark at 100% brightness just to compare...
