LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

Think I may end up keeping mine... Theres not that much in the way of backlight bleed its just the IPS glow in the corners that's annoying but if I send this back to LG and get another id obviously lose out on the £90 saving from the sale wouldn't I and chances are I might get a worse one or one with really bad bleed aswell as glow.

Also can anyone help with this... For some reason when I load up windows after a couple of seconds my gamma contrast and brightness settings all get skewed...like something inside windows somewhere is overwriting them and it looks awfull... I cant see to find out how to stop that and I don't really want to have to reinstall windows and format over something so silly.

Turn that off in Control Panel if it's on. You have an app loading an LUT palette via the gfx card and that resets when loading some games etc.

Its actually stopped since I allowed the LG truecolorfinder to load up on startup.
Its strange though as I only changed the gamma/brightness/contrast for my old monitor in there. I haven't touched it for the LG one....

This is what I have in that box...

Do you have the i1Display Pro yet? The LG software shouldn't be installed until you do as it has an LUT loader so without a calibration being run you may find it is trying to load colours to the monitor that aren't accurate.

Uninstall it and use it once you have the i1 if so.

Havent got that yet. Sometime in the next couple of weeks hopefully.
I don't see the ips glow at all during the day so that's great. Iv put my old LED strips behind my monitor for night viewing so they should help. Overall im glad I picked this one as its fantastic and games are so much more immersive now. Im pretty sure 90% of these are going to have ips glow of some kind and mine is pretty decent bleed wise.

Display port 1.2 seems to be a mixed bag though. When I activated it last night it was fine but when I booted up my computer today it was flickering and tearing like crazy so I had to turn it off.

Need a wider desk lol. My speakers barely fit and im getting bigger new ones soon so no idea how im going to fit those.
The screen looks much bigger in person too, its huge.

Has anyone got plans to bring out a 21:9 tv again?

Sure.

The 105-inch UN105S9W 21:9 LED-FALD LCD costs $120,000 and (might) make an appearance at this year's shootout.

Although Value Electronics is an independent electronics retailer, its founder—Robert Zohn—expends considerable effort to make sure it is a fair competition. The goal is to bring properly calibrated TVs together for comparison under controlled conditions and to have an audience full of AV enthusiasts vote on what they see.

This year's shootout consists of two all-day events scheduled for August 16 and 17. The event takes place in the Value Electronics showroom, located in Scarsdale, NY. If you are interested in attending, you should contact Robert Zohn and request an application.
