LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

Second replacement has backlight bleed which is quite frankly worse! RMA again. Will let you know whether the exchange is any better. Manufactured in July BTW. Ridiculous.

@mrk, or anyone with the display calibrated. Do you see banding & crushed blacks on this screenshot?
Or am I going insane here, and things are fine, as I don't see the same issue elsewhere.

That's the game itself, it's extremely low quality.

Check here for an actual test: http://www.drycreekphoto.com/Learn/Calibration/monitor_gradient.htm

Thanks mate, some folks on twitter confirmed its the game as well. I checked your link, and the Lagom monitor test site. Phew.

Had a bit of a mini heart attack when I saw all the banding and crushed blacks. Especially since it was the only place I saw it all day, and thought something went mental with the monitor.

Some game developers don't create their games under calibration. While most of the big ones do.

Seems so, it really freaked me out when I saw it all. Thing is even DOOM 3 which is a decade old has some of the best blacks, and gradients around. I've recently started playing it again, and it's superb compared to Interstellar Marines for visual quality.

Couldn't be happier with this monitor now I'm finished with all the returns lol. Can't spot any bleed at all on my normal brightness settings and just enjoying gaming and studio work on it .
Colours are just outstanding. Especially when calibrated but even when not it still looked good. Il never go back to 16:9 for gaming as this just takes it up a level.. Even more than 4k in my opinion. It's an expensive monitor but when you think about how much 4k ips panels cost for a 34 inch the price isn't that terrible for what you get.

Im glad you finally got something awesome mate. :D

I completely agree, and I'm so happy I didn't bother with the TN 4K displays. MY next upgrade is an IPS 21:9 5K display> :D

Yeah there's no denying the size and quality of the images on display with this. Everyone that has seen mine so far has been thoroughly wowed :p

Mine shipped today - should have it early next week @ work - cheapskate isnt sending it via tracked service though ;)

Arrived today in perfect condition - and it even shipped "ParcelForce Express 24" (even though I didnt tick the 1st class box and had an estimated delivery of 2nd september) - and that probably costs more than the 5.18 I paid alone. So allround I think they made even more of a loss on this one.

It's just a shame LG removed the on-board LUT from other newer models in the 29" range, I suppose cost came into it a bit as the 29EB93 went EOL rather quickly :S

Here is the Phillips model. Doesn't look as nice as the LG in my opinion but if they don't have the bleed problems then there all better than the LG lol.
