LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

What games are you struggling to run AWPC? I haven't had any problems with my rig in sig and max settings (except AA), the only game where I need to drop most settings down by one notch is crysis 3.

Of course there are games that run a bit crap i.e. poorly optimised like dead rising 3 when you get LOADS of zombies in one frame/screen.

Likewise, no problems with blu rays using MPC-HC and madvr.
Most of them mate I detailed them here before a few months ago to me gaming @ 2560x1080 with max gfx is putting a big strain on FPS but I like Vsync on at all times 34" makes screen tearing seem way worse & I sit about 2ft away from this screen so notice everything accuately!

That's exactly what I was needing to hear and makes the decision that much easier. I'd rather avoid a multi gpu set up, if possible, and with a child on the way this planned build will need need to last the best part of 3 years....I have been told.lol I'd hate to get a 34" 1440p screen and be stuck with running anything well in the very near future.

Thanks for the response...very helpful.
NP mate hope you like it few people do not get the  factor when they start 21:9 gaming ;) UM95 is a better overall model but IMO you need to invest in a very high end GPU setup to do it justice I am finding a GTX 780 Ti is just about ok on the UM65 in some games even then I need to use FXAA MSAA is a big no no at times as it makes the GPU go beyond 60% so the noisy fans kick in :(

I don't bother with aa stuff, usually too much of a performance hit, use sweetfx stuff instead, better looking with zero to little performance hit, although a right pita to get it working half the time with W8.1!

And yeah, I am very sensitive to screen tearing :( so try to always use vsync when possible.

Nexus I presume your display port 1.2 works because it doesn't change to 10 bit colours?

If I put the colours back down to 8bit in the AMD control panel then DP 1.2 works fine on the monitor.

sometimes my CCC allows me to select 10bits (the option pops up just like that), but it doesn't change anything (10bit PSDs still have ****** gradients) and everything works as if it were still on the 8bit setting

Oh snap! I finally got those little artifact lines some of you were on about on the right side of the screen.

Only happens if a window is open on that side, and I move the mouse. The latest AMD 14.9 drivers in Windows 8.1 Pro seems to have done it. Tiny little horizontal lines flashing on that side.

EDIT: Seems it happens after I turned off Crossfire, and tested a game, and turned it back on. A reboot seems to have sorted it. For now. :p

Right so an update on my original 34UM95-P situation. I was fully intending on selling it for around £550 once it came back from Germany from the 2nd repair to fix the last remaining corner bleed but having waited 5~ weeks now I heard nothing from Germany other than "We are still waiting".

Last night I emailed them stating I wish to exercise my consumer rights and requested a refund or new monitor replacement as this has taken too long and was not acceptable.

A moment ago I received a PayPal email saying the store had given me a partial refund of £720. I logged into the store account and can see the monitor is still in the RMA section and is active so it would seem they've given me a partial refund and still waiting for LG Germany to fix the monitor as it's still active in the RMA.

So to date I've had a free monitor with perfect bleed levels as compensation, £720 refunded today and the original monitor is still being fixed (how much longer that will take I don't know and really I don't care any more as long as it gets dealt with :p) and I'm also due to receive the curved model for reviewing and comparing!

Well...I've just bought this monitor along with a couple of Nvidia 980's. Excited (new Tech!) and nervous (light bleed hell) at the same time. Picked up an Ergotron stand as well although I believe that will be delivered at a later date. Now to explain the purchase to the missus...
Wish me luck!

Even 1 will be enough :p

I have been gaming on a single 290X and a GTX 780 before that and that was enough for all the games I played. The problem is many new games don't have supporting SLI profiles so dual GPUs tends to work out worse for a good few weeks or longer (if at all in some cases).

What makes you certain that you're also getting the monitor back in addition to the £720? Sounds like they've just done what you asked which is refund, except it's only a partial one :p.
