LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

Well, the 34UM65 details appear to now be surfacing, and pricing is looking to be around £500 to £550.

Some will be disappointed to see that this is a 2560x1080 screen, but personally I think that works in it's favour as a gaming screen - far easier to drive without massively expensive GPU setups.

But if this screen is £500+, I can only imagine it's bigger brother, the 34UM95 3440x1440 will cost more like £800+

The 34um65 kind of makes decision making hard for me. Go with slightly wider, but still large screen, or get triple setup again....

Oh, PS: Apparently out around the 25th or so - I'd have to dig through emails to confirm though.

Seems to be plenty of German prices for the 34UM95 around, generally around £780-800 inc. VAT.

Definitely going to be watching this one as it fits my needs rather well.

I think you meant the 95 version.
So yeah, it will probably be in the 700-800 GBP price, but even that I think its expensive, its not even 4 K quality, should be more like 600 to 500.

I'm sure when other manufacturers launch their models, so there is competition, we'll see prices come down. The current 29" models for example started out at around £600 and now they are available for half that.

Fixed the typo, yes, for the 34UM95.

Lower price would clearly be better, but at least at first, it isn't going to have a lot of competition.

The UM95 looks really appealing, huge screen and resolution and should produce a beautiful image whilst being incredibly practical. Gaming could be an issue, but by the time these are mainstream enough for me to justify the cost, gpu hardware should have developed too.

I'll be looking at screens like these in 6 months or so I think. Don't really want to pay an early adopter premium.

Damn I just bought 3 U2414H's!!

I wouldn't worry if it's mostly for gaming.

Sure, the 3 x screens will take up more room, but that extra width you get is just brilliant for certain games.

I was unsure what to go with, between triple screens, the 2560x1080 34um65 and the 34um95, but I just ordered triple monitor stand and 2 extra 27 inch screens yesterday.

Now, my previous experience with triple screens is 3 x 23, which was lovely, and 3 x 27 might be a bit much, but I won't know til I try. Just didn't want to replace my current Asus screen, cause I love it.

This monitor should be amazing, currently on 2560x1080 but would love the upgrade. 21:9 is the best thing since sliced bread, its eyefinity without stupid bezels. :D
