LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

This looks like its going to be the very nice middle ground between 4k and 1440p 16:10.

Love the thin bezel and i'm glad they've made it a decent size so the pixels aren't too small to use at native res. like 4k monitors at sub 30" i think the pixel density is a little on the small size.

2560x1080p panels are £299 so yea it will be interesting to see how much it costs to go to 3440x1440. AOC is £299 Dell as high as £399 once. Its an £800 at most monitor its not even true 10bit, Still IPS over VA, Still 60HZ, Still Vsync.

But we will see

Yup...all about the dot pitch which is 0.233 for this. Same as my U2711 and is about perfect without text scaling.

This is the key thing for me. Manufacturers are about to start unleashing 4k monitors but at present Windows font scaling issues would render most of them pretty much unusable! This is what made me keen on the idea of this monitor. Failing that I'd rather go for a 27" 1440p than 4k right now TBH unless Microsoft improve the situation with Windows 9

Ok thanks, thats kinda good me thinks as 1 x Titan card would do decent with games pretty much maxed. 4k I hear would need 2 x Titans so this seems decent!

Doubt there is a massive difference between 3440X1440 and 4k to the human eye

:)

Hmmmm, did he say that he hooked it up via HDMI!?? Didn't think it had the capability yet for close to 4k-res...

Not happy so far with the 'light' and 'plasticy' words being used to describe it

edit - No matter, I see that HDMI will work but at 30hz

I always wanted 21:9 but the previous vertical res of 1080 had put me off, 1440 seems much more usable?

+1 on this.

I've always liked wider aspect but the vertical res has always been an issue until now.

im doing daily searches for the monitor and hope to see some uk pricing soon but at the price its listed in the states id imagine its going to be expensive.

Wonder if OcUK will be stocking these, i definately think its worth doing!
