LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

Tinfoil hat mode- They're not stocking it to make people buy 4K displays instead. :o

At a pure guess I would expect OCUK to make more profit from an £800 monitor than a £500 one (unless you are meaning the £1000+ 4k monitors but I wouldnt expect those to be particularly hot sellers just yet .......although I could be very wrong)

I contacted Overclockers today via webnote because the LG website lists the response time as 14ms. They replied agreeing that the website was correct and they would update this site to reflect the correct value.

However, I know that the response time can be altered via a menu option so I'm still waiting to see how people get on with it :)

LG does not list it for that model but the 34UM95 model you said before a few pages back was 14ms is 5ms on their site and you replied to that post.

From LG's site.

LG 29EA93 = 5ms

LG 34UM95 = 5ms

LG 29UM65 = Does not state

Thanks for the comment nexus regarding 2 screens to the one

I'll ask it as a general Q

Would you get rid of two dell ultrasharps for this?
U27 and u24?

I haven't had one monitor for so long I can't gauge it.

Also I would reinstall drivers if the control centre doesn't appear.

Tell you something. I've had more issues with windows 8 in 1 week they I have with osx in 5 Years.

soooo. Ran driver fusion and uninstalled everything. Re-installed latest CCC package ( icl driver ) and while driver has installed CCC now gives an error message.. very frustrating

the MOM.implementation was showing as missing when booted up

I confused the models in the post you are referring to, and you are quite right that the 34 inch um95 does have a 5ms response time.

The 29 inch um65 has a 14ms response time though.

It's listed on the USA website and if you call them and ask, they will tell you it is 14ms.

hmmm strange that!

As supposedly the LG Flatron 29EB53-B, LG 29EA93 and 29um65 all use the same panel and then Linus said he finds the 29um65 "noticeably snappier" than the 34um95

If it were me, I would sell both, get this and then just buy a cheapish <22" screen.

It entirely depends what you use the second screen for though, main reason I still have it is for teamspeak when playing bf 4 (some use the chatbox during game, handy to see who has joined the channel etc.) If I didn't game, I probably not bother with a second screen.

Wow 5% price hike and still not in stock. If I can't call in a pick one up over the weekend I think I might just sit tight for the Dell U3415. Maybe that will support adaptive sync so it might be worth me waiting a little longer.

A bit strange that they'd update the ETA to today when clearly it's not coming in today.

Fingers crossed for stock arrival and dispatch tomorrow for delivery on Monday!

Sure it did this last week and they didn't turn up. If it does come in tomorrow however might be worth trying to blag a Saturday delivery on the cheap seeing as it now has free delivery. That's if you paid for delivery like me!

I did pay for delivery but in truth I'd be happy paying extra for Saturday, trouble is I'd have to call them and sort it out I guess as it's destined for my work address, work isn't far from my home but I'd still rather not have to go in on my day off, that and the front desk is unmanned on a Saturday, DPD and most other couriers usually delivery to our office at the back but to be sure I'd have to sit at the front and then if the DPD driver drove round to the back I'd need to sprint to meet him.

Suffice to say if it was dispatched to my home address on a Saturday delivery I'd be a very happy chappy, but I know it's a pipe dream ;)

How long have they been out of stock for?

Possibly!

On a separate note, the 29" ETA has now gone up to 10/6/14

*sigh*

Will wait till then but if the ETA gets pushed further up, I'm just going to get a refund and get something else.

Ordered mine around about the 13th.

A small amount of stock came in on the 16th which I believe covered most of the pre-orders, though unfortunately there were not enough to fulfill my own order.

So stock has come and gone but it seems they have been unavailable for quite a while due to demand.

Ouch, I panicked for a second thinking you were referring to the 34um95, I think a further delay might give me cause to rethink the purchase (possibly to wait for better screens)

On the positive side it gives you time to look into that response time for the 29um65.

Personally 14ms would worry me, that's quite high.

I'm pretty sure OC have only had the one delivery on the 16th. They only got 10 in then. I was number 25 a couple of weeks ago so if they only get another 10 in then I'm in for a long wait. Lol. You can't get them anywhere else in the UK which seems odd to me. LG is hardly a small brand but these monitors are rocking horse poo. Going to hang on though despite the 4k temptation. Not in a huge rush. Just want it!

I ordered mine last friday, seems like I have been waiting ages. How do you know what number you are?

I called just before I ordered. The chap said they had 50 on order and 25 pre orders. That was 2 weeks ago and obviously 10 pre orders have been satisfied. Just phone and ask where you are. I believe OC works on a first come first serve basis.
