LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

Mine is on its way:D

Same, at my local depot and out for delivery this morning (as I write this an email came through telling me between 08:28-09:28), really think DPD is one of the best couriers I have ever dealt with, so far for work or personal they've yet to miss a delivery window, even FedEx don't give me a delivery window.

Despite the fact that I have pestered them a couple of times so far I am very impressed with OCUK's customer service, very helpful indeed. Only really used them for odds and ends in the past (pumps, fittings, radiators etc), think that will have to change.

Hopefully I get a good quality monitor and that is the end of the story, if not and it needs replacement I hope OCUK keep the same level of service. They are only 75 minutes drive away and open on a Saturday, sounds like a day trip.

Unfortunately what I want is often specialist so I will still need to shop around I guess, their stock list is large but not all encompassing after all.

Still waiting for my rain forrest reseller to ship mine. :(
If it wasn't the weekend I would have cancelled and asked for a refund to order here from OcUK. :(

I'm so jelly of Royster's awesome looking one, those lovely blacks.

If I order now do OCUK ship on saturdays, or will it go out on Monday?

Well, it arrived at 08:30, I gave it close to 3 hours to bring it up to room temp as it has been in shipping a while and the packaging LG use was fairly standard.

Happy to say it's in mint condition, working perfectly and what little IPS glow there is does not affect the picture of any movies or games I am running.

In fact during testing so far I had to look pretty hard to see any glow.

Still on stock settings, pretty high everything. I do not have a monitor calibrator so all I've changed thus far is colour temp to a little warmer, switched to Displayport 1.2, set response time to high and Nvidia Video colour settings from limited to full (VLC and other media programs are washed out if you if you do not set this on nvidia cards).

What calibration probe are you using btw? I've noticed that on day 1 my post calibration was very good but still to my eyes had a hint of warmth to it even though the post calibration report showed it was 0.x deviations away from the targets. I never mentioned this as I have seen the same on all monitors I've had over the years post calibration but after a few days it looks normal.

I think it's because our eyes get so used to the output "flavour" of one monitor that when we get a new one everything has a little bit of a different feel to it even though it's calibrating the same.

After a few days , once my eyes had become accustomed to it, it was better in all areas of contrast of course :)

At present I am not using one, though I think I will order one today, this monitor is such good quality it would be a shame to not set it up correctly.

Any recommendations?

For some reason mine wasn't shipped yesterday.....

So won't get it till Tuesday at the very earliest :(

edit:

Glad to hear you got a good one pudsley :)
