LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

I'm getting a bit ansty with the rainforrest reseller I ordered from last Thursday morning. Still no update, and it still says preparing for dispatch. Today is the last day it was expected to ship on, and I've now sent them a message asking what's going on through the Amazon contact system.

There were 2 ins stock when I ordered, and 1 after my order was confirmed. Although considering I haven't heard a peep since then, I'm starting to wonder if they took more orders than stock, or didn't have any.

OcUK is also almost out of monitors, and if it's all the case I'd want a refund asap to order from here.

A bit OT but what would you guys do here.

I ordered the Lightpack LED lighting kit a while back as some will recall and ended up returning it as the software was crap and one strip was DOA. Initially they offered me a $40 partial refund (it cost $119) and said I could keep the kit and they would send me a new strip to replace the DOA one which I declined.

I updated the PayPal claim with confirmation of delivery for the return and stated I wanted a full refund. They've now offered a $99 refund...

Their website states a refund is given for orders returned within 30 days which mine has and I've noted this in my PayPal case notes.

Should I accept the $99 offer or decline and stick with the full refund which I'm entitled to? On one hand I don't like faff so would rather forfeit the £12 difference and take the $99 but on the other hand It's a matter of principal and I want my full refund too.

The other thing is if the case falls in their favour (unlikely but you never know) and I do decline then I will get nothing and the case is closed. My only last resort then is to contact my bank and file an unauthorised transaction claim.

Depends if you want to take the risk. Personally I'd probably just eat it to get it over with. Once had to do paypal claims for a 680 Lightning I sent back and they refused to refund me. Not fun.

In what apps? Wide gamut screens are pointless and useless in anything but colour managed apps like Photoshop and then only once properly configured and in the relevant proof mode based on what you are doing.

In all other apps and inputs all colours will not be accurate in accordance with sRGB.

Trying to assess whether it's worth bothering with a calibrator as I don't do any pro work.

Though I'd say I prefer punchy (but not too contrasty), semi-accurate colours over complete accuracy.

Has your replacement been shipped?

I'm asking because I ordered one on the 7th after confirming there was stock via webnote, and now I am being told they are still waiting for stock

They have 200 in stock but need clearance from LG to ship first :( Not sure why... Hopefully get the go ahead soon!

Thanks for the reply.

I'm going to call them because I've had two replies this morning, both stating quite clearly that they are awaiting stock and sorry for any confusion.

Obviously something wrong with the batch they will not want to ship if they need RMAing due to a known fault. Same as in US there is no stock until end of June now. Its far cheaper to fix these before they leave LG to the retail channels otherwise the RMA delivery costs will wipe out most of the profit margin.

Whelp, the work day is over in germany, and I've still not heard a peep about my monitor, or a response to my email about it. I ordered 10:51 Thursday morning, and I'm getting annoyed now. The monitor is listed as Currently Unavailable now.

If I don't hear anything by tomorrow morning, I'm cancelling and getting a full refund. Then waiting for OcUK to start selling again. Ordering here with Express shipping is only €5 more than what I paid so far.
