LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

oops, just caught up from the weekends thread posts, a bit busy with my daughters wedding etc on Saturday.

How flexible are you able (willing) to be before you need to consider options other than a repair etc...?

How do you mean? As in wanting a refund? I want a replacement or a repair with whatever new part they're installing to replace the faulty one on the panel (the panel itself moat likely). There is no other monitor I want really and am getting by with the 29EB93 for the time being.

Considering I can't return the 29" any more I've mentioned this purchase to LG as well so I'd be expecting something to be done about that too. That would put LG UK back into the good books for me at least anyway, if they go the extra mile beyond that for all the faff I've had to go through to get this far then I'd be happier still.

You mentioned above what I was meaning, "there is no other monitor I want really" - and so it makes sense to stick with the course of action currently underway. I just hope that they actually are able to deliver, within a reasonable time frame, an acceptable monitor and then adequately recompense you.

Again the best of luck.

Gotta say the 29EB93 I have currently is bleed free still. There is some IPS glow but that's a given with IPS anyway. I notice that this model of the 29" is not sold by the store I bought it from now so maybe it was a limited run or something? S9ecs wise it has everything else of the other bigger models.

The rainforrest reseller has become even more of a farce. That secondhand open box LG 95 they tried to send me ( after I cancelled the order ) has been returned to them by UPS.

I received the Proof of delivery and the tracking info, I emailed them through the rain forrest contact system through my claim and attached the proof and shipping details. They're now claiming that nothing has been received and that I need to return the item.

Called the rain forrest, and their claims department are now going to give me the refund, and then "deal" with the reseller. Especially after the woman I was on the phone to went through the "conflicting" emails the seller had sent me.

It's been over 2 weeks so far.

I have news.

It's not good news :|

Ian has gotten back to me with the LG HQ's response and they've confirmed that they definitely cannot get a date on when the part required will come in or if even at all. they have no idea why UK retailers don't have stock and the only option they have offered me is to refund me the carriage cost for shipping the monitor back to computeruniverse in Germany and they will supply a letter for them advising them to refund me because it cannot be repaired under warranty.

No mention of anything else.

A poor show and I've mentioned that because of this kind of "resolution" I will most likely look at other brands in future if this is how LG treats customers in after sales support.

now where is Dell and their monitor, if it has on-board LUT then consider me in. I'll miss the joystick controlled OSD and sleek design but it's the principal of the matter that's important and I'll be updating my review of this where I can to reflect this new experience.

Ah Mrk! Not good at all! I find it odd that they're wondering why the UK doesn't have stock, surely they Would know?

The USA seems to have stock popping up everywhere, and the EU/UK is being shunned. :(

Well my Asus MX299Q has arrived, no bleed, no clouding and no annoying glow. The colours are better and contrast is much better than the 29UM65.

The response feels better too and both myself and my twitch gaming m8 reckon there is no input lag, or if there is he doesn't notice it.

Another m8 is coming over the weekend after next to calibrate it, not that it needs it in my opinion, and I'll make sure to report on it afterwards.

Games and movies are awesome, and I would recommend this unreservedly to anyone looking for a 21:9 29 inch display. It's everything I hoped the LG 29UM65 would be and more.

I just hope I don't need to RMA at any point :p

p.s The audio is fairly poor, but still way better than any other monitor I have heard thus far.

Edit: Sorry to hear that mrk, that's really disappointing to say the least.
