LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

The 29" I bought as spare is the 29EB93-P, not the one you mentioned! By all accounts the EB93 appears to be just fine as far as an 8bit panel goes and performance.

Ah! Damn LG and all these slightly different versions/model numbers

I presume it would be using the same panel as the 29um65 and the 29eb53-p......

This is certainly a mess. I've never seen a monitor people want so badly, yet can't provide stock or quality.

I really hope this is a new revision and everything is sorted out.

Between this and all the issues with the SST Ultra HD displays, there are very few choices for me.

I wish LG had a rep on this forum, and others. They'd see the market wants their products.

Yup, it is coming up to 1 month now since I bought the 29um65, during that time, it was out of stock for a week or so.

Personally I have no interest in considering any non 21.9 aspect ratio monitors now and most certainly not 4k (due to all the problems with it + needing 2 top end dual GPUs to run games on mostly max settings at an acceptable frame rate)

I could drive it, but the issues are annoying. Along with the fact of moving from IPS to TN. Doesn't feel right, and won't work well.

The 21:9 monitors look fantastic, I just want LG to pull the finger out so I can buy a quality display off them.

Looks like I will be seeking a refund instead of a replacement again!

I've ordered myself an Asus MX299Q from the rain forest, apparently it's rather good for gaming and that will be it's main use so I'm going to see what it's like.

A friend in the states recommended it the other day, and he loves his, so fingers crossed ;)

It's a shame he didn't recommend it before I bought the um65 tbh!

We're away until Tuesday next week so it won't be delivered until Wednesday or Thursday, but once I've had time to play around with it I'll post some thoughts.

I think you should be happy the Asus has the best response time of the whole 21:9 range (roughly 12ms pixels) and minimal input lag (some say 0 max measured by any review 7ms) so the only problem is going to be 60hz smoothness which you might find is solved by 75hz. Let us know though because i am either going to buy the exact same one or Eizo foris 2421 in the next week or so as the price is now £350. The only thing holding me back is i dont want to buy both and DSR one and i dont know if 75hz is going to make games as buttery smooth as i want like Chivalry Deus EX among the stuttery titles.

Calibration is a bit different on MX299Q though see here : http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18598550

Cool, look forward to hearing what you think! :)

Hey guys been looking at all the LG monitors and wondered what you think of the 25" LG
UM65-P, does it have the same problems etc. :)

That 25" one has a super small vertical height, imo not even worth considering.

As for bleed problems, no idea.

I bought one of those 4 months ago from OCUK....got a DSR the next day  Vertical height is ridiculous less than a 23" 16:9 screen. Sound quality is also pathetic & the onscreen controls are way too sensitive.

PQ is stunning & so is the monitor design its very space age but I could not get used to the lack of vertical height & Win 7 issues with the fonts not scaling properly so I had to DSR but it still cost me £30 P&P

The vertical height is exactly the same as a 23" 16:9 screen actually. That is clearly mentioned in some of the better reviews and articles on these models so shouldn't have been a surprise ;).

Well no call from the LG guy who promised I'd get a call back today yet. I'm going to be prepping a post with everything so far put into one post then linking to that in a tweet adding all the LG channels into it and then sharing that through various places. This is not on.

I would do the same. To Reddit and other places!

Yeah, I've already had an LG 29UM65 and I love the size, it was identical in height to my LG 2353v, and had no issues that I noticed with Win 8.1.

Sadly I had to return it for a full refund as it had problems with the backlight and glow.

I'm hoping the Asus doesn't suffer from the same issues, and I have a dac, amp, speakers and headphones for my sound ;)

Does not surprise me  I asked OCUK to check with the LG rep yesterday...he was on a long weekend !

That Asus has stunning PQ I could not notice any IPS glow I sit about 2 ft away as well the PQ is so good it brings so much extra detail out of game graphics you can even see the textures micro streaming in the Batman Arkham series which are normally very hard to spot on other monitors with a decent GPU
