LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

I know, i have 2x 29's at at work, one on top of the other :)

Well, having a 27" in portrait, I can safely say that having the two 34"s stacked on top of each other (as long as the bottom one is very close to the surface of the desk) should reach roughly the same height, which to me is fine, as the top one will just act as a secondary (Skype, and the like)

oh, yeah ~2" taller than a 27" in portrait including the second bezel i guess! if you can put up with it then go for it! i think given the choice i wouldnt choose this configuration again - much bigger and it would be too much looking up and down when you're actively using both monitors for me.

It's interesting that american places are suddenly getting stock. No one reporting any issues either, the only ones that seem to have trouble are the folks that bought the first batch it seems.

Here's a comparison of the LG vs the Apple Thunderbolt Display.
The matte coating and ability to calibrate really make it stand out as the better display.

LG need to sort out the issues with bleed, and the bloody support they offer. Such market for these, and they're shooting themselves in both feet, and other hand.

The Apple screen looks ancient with those thick bezels.

Computeruniverse's online stock checker shows that it's now "ordered on demand" so it seems their initial stock went back too and now they're getting them from LG/suppliers when a customer order comes in. 1-2 weeks is stock time when ordering so I imagine if they do replace mine then 3~ weeks before I get one as replacement.

Damn mrk, I really hope you get sorted ASAP. This is becoming a bit of a farce.

I have good news on my end though, the Rainforrest claims team have come through and processing my refund. ALSO OcUK list the LG 95's are due this Friday, the 27th.

If true, I shall of course order one. Only if there's stock, and hoping it's a new revision.
Speaking of, if it is, I hope that's what you're getting as a replacement. :)

What revision is it, Gibbo? I have my cash here but don't want to splurge to encounter the same backlight issues!!

Also is the above an attempt to sell of those that have been returned? Please say no!!!!

Yes hence why they are B-grade, which is DSR'd items returned or faulty items after they have being repairedby manufacturer. However price was wrong, these are now £659.99 :)

Wait so how have LG UK repaired those and sent them back to OcUK when according to their UK service centre the part needed to repair my own one has no ETA and they don't know what's going on themselves?

Can open, worms out?

Gibbo are you avoiding the revision question on purpose?

I think I'll spend my money elsewhere tbh

Yes, this seems fishy as ****! Given my experiences with OCUK monitors, I would recommend avoiding buying these B Grade items. I would bet my left leg these haven't even seen an LG repair centre

After a very poor monitor buying / faulty/ returns experience with ocuk (not this LG however), this sounds very suspect to me.
For what it's worth I'll never buy a monitor from ocuk ever again, new or otherwise.

Do the LG's have revision numbers on the back?
I just bought a 34" UM65 the build revision is inside the box lid it also lists the manufacture date mine is Rev 0.1 May 2014 built in Korea (I suspect they are all built in Korea then shipped to LG in Germany for some reason).

I do not have any issue with mine except the mild IPS corner glow which is angle dependant & part of the IPS tech so not a fault at all I can live with it anyway its no better/worse than any IPS monitor I have seen.

The scale is slightly disappointing though I moved from a 28" 16:10 & 34" 21:9 is about 4" wider either side & the same height but the overall scale unless your watching 2.35 movies or 2.37 21:9 games is about the same. I expected sightly more but thats just me really I owned an 80" projector in the 1990s so nothing seems that large to me since ;)

Most of the issues I have heard of are with the 34" UM95 & 29" UM65 models the 34" UM65 appears to be made to spec & works as it should.

Of course they haven't. You're trading off a bit of money if you don't care too much about quality.
