LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

LG UK refused to accept the warranty on my 34UM95 from the first batch sold here as it was an import from Germany. Be interested to see if the new batch are UK spec with a valid warranty, it still says 2 years onsite on the product page.

I changed to a BenQ BL3200PT in the end but might be open to trying another of these once the backlight is fixed.

Yes we are now on UK stock, our first batch came from our German partners Caseking as it was before we had a direct relationship with LG.

We now work directly with LG and our stock is now all UK stock. :)

As to revision, we don't guarantee revision sorry, if you tell me what I am looking for I shall see if I can go and find the stock in our warehouse and go take a look for you. :)

Gibbo are you avoiding the revision question on purpose?

I think I'll spend my money elsewhere tbh

Yes, this seems fishy as ****! Given my experiences with OCUK monitors, I would recommend avoiding buying these B Grade items. I would bet my left leg these haven't even seen an LG repair centre

Nope, I only just re-looked at the thread, I am an extremely busy guy as I am running a lot of operations within OcUK. :)

As I just replied I shall see if I can find them in our warehouse, but be good to know what I am looking for on the box please. :)

On the monitor sticker itself is printed the month of manufacture, the both inside flap will show the revision too IIRC. All the problem ones seem to be April manufactured.

Now, the question is what are LG playing at by telling me that they could not repair my monitor when they've repaired the OcUK returned stock. This points to favouritism from LG, treat the business customer well and repair their stock no questions asked but sod the consumer because he's just a smaller number?

Hi can someone just confirm please if it was just the original batch of 10 or the second batch that have no UK Warranty as I would not be happy if I had cause to use the warranty and then find out it was not honoured, the second batch arrived about 4 weeks ago I think and as yet it hasn't experienced bad bleeding but I would still like the warranty there just in case.

I've asked LG UK support what that's all about and am awaiting a reply. I'm also still awaiting the money back from them for the postage cost sending the monitor back to Germany to which they said they'd pay.

Gibbo, the inside flap of the box has a barcode with a month of manufacture as well as a revision.

Mine from OcUK's second batch (i.e the one after the initial 10 or so monitors) says "May" and Rev 01.

With regards to the statement about the original batch being German stock and the more worrying quote about LG refusing warranty service in the UK for these, please can you tell us how we can confirm whether we received the proper UK stock? My 34UM95 box had a UK 3-pin power cord in it, but I can't tell if this was added by OcUK.

Also Gibbo, please can you confirm with LG what the deal is with regards to the warranty in general? The OcUK product page says "2 year on-site warranty", which usually means either a direct swap-out or (more rarely) an on-site repair.

It doesn't sound like that is what LG have been doing if mrk (and others?) have had to send their monitors away for LG to inspect over multiple days.

mrk didn't buy his from OCUK, mind. On-site means OCUK will handle that, not LG.
