LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

Mine just arrived - it has MAY66273906 rev.01 on the small flap on the left hand side of the box. But I would have thought that was the box - not the monitor (which will have to wait until I get it home to find out more numbers on the kit itself).

eek, the fact that it has May in it doesn't bowed well, but I guess not every monitor will have a problem..
Start praying people:(

TBH, I would still be wary of getting these LG monitors knowing that there is a possibility that they could get worse like mrk's and that other guys one a few weeks/month down the line :(

BTW, according to gibbo, LG aren't making any more of the 29UM65 and will be releasing a new 29" version, not sure on ETA or pricing though but I find it very strange that they are "already" discontinuing it and releasing a new model

According to gibbo it is due to them not selling well...

Just hope mine from the first USA batch is still good when I get back to it later this year.

Was good for 4 weeks but it could be a ticking time bomb!

Looking forward to the reports of backlight bleed on the June panels.

I have a May one. Bleed's not terrible, but it is there. If there's a marked difference between May and June I may see what I can do about it. I know early adoption is always a risk, but for £840 I ain't going to be happy to just deal with it if the first few were just straight up buggered.

Computeruniverse have confirmed receipt of my monitor now and are either having a quick ganders in house or are sending it to LG Germany for inspection. I can't tell from the translation lol. I did include LG UK's "We can't repair this lol" which contains the uplift auth number so hopefully it's a quick in house check and replace jobby.

They said:

Error Description / Reason for return:

Backlight bleed problems / / backlight is defective / / In original box with accessories to service centers

The item will be forwarded for further processing as soon as possible to the manufacturer or supplier. Once processing is sent immediately to you the item.

The next 2 weeks is going to be very busy with shipments coming in from various purchases so at least I'll be busy playing with stuff and not twiddling thumbs waiting...

Actually, theres only a small bit of back light bleed on the right side, what I'm looking at is IPS glow I think!

IPS glow is the from the corners right?

edit: The brightness out the box is on 70, if you drop that down to 0 for movies, or 20-30 for desktop use it's a lot better.
