LG to Introduce 34-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide (Model UM95) monitor

Unlucky mrh2019 :(

So it seems whoever said this issue has been fixed with the monitors made in June is talking BS. Was it actually by a legit source or just some randomer???

How are you getting on with the asus one finguz?

Got mine all set up and with the naked eye looks pretty good in regard to this light leakage, I need mine more for work and won't be watching movies on it but it certainly isn't distracting at all and if I had not been conscious that these screens have a reputation for it I wouldn't have really given it a second thought. Thing is if I take a photo of it it looks about 100 times worse than it does with the naked eye. Maybe I got a good one or maybe I am not as concerned about it but I'm keeping it as it really is not a deal breaker at all.

Yup same here! I have some glow in the bottom corners, although looking at it it's not really noticeable. Yet when I take a photo it looks mental!

I haven't noticed it at all today when working in FCPX and Screenflow, and only now that it's dark and I forced a black background to look for it did I spot the Glow.

I see yours is connected to the new Mac Pro, is that via thunderbolt? I have mine connected to the old Mac Pro (with a GTX680 gfx card) mainly going to be using it for editing (Avid) so even a little glow in the corners doesn't show up with the suite running.

Yes, Thunderbolt and it's been stellar. The USB ports and other TB port are now hubbed essentially.

No problems at all and I'm really glad I went for this one, gaming is great ;)

I genuinely think some must be worse than others as it is no way anywhere near bad enough for me to replace. My guess is they all have it to some degree and that it is inherit to the design or production process. I cannot speak for others as I am sure some are really bad but also maybe some people are more sensitive to it than others too.

Or do what LG suggest...

"Use the monitor with a very low brightness setting and ONLY during bright/day conditions!"

hmmm, decisions, go for the asus or wait and see what happens with LG's 29" replacement..... :(

Never checked my 2 dell 24" monitors:

Dell 2405FPW (Sep 2005) - Perfect :p

Dell U2412M (Aug 2012) - has backlight bleed, but I have never noticed it. Took a photo and it looked really bad (Mostly because of IPS glow).

I think I will survive :D

Still want a new 34" monitor :p

N19h7m4r3, did you install any drivers to get the USB ports working? Mine dont seem to detect any devices

Oh, my model is APRIL 2014, still no issue with bleed...

Actually thats a good point - neither are mine. Anyone got their USB ports working (I am connected to a Mac Pro). I know you have to install drivers for the thunderbolt ports to work.
