Lila Connect - VX Fibre 1gig - Stoke on Trent

Mental mate. I've literally just come off the phone with them for that price. I've been with them for 8 years though, don't know if that makes a difference?

I've been with them from Cable & Wireless in the 90s > NTL > Virgin.
They repeatedly said I had my offers back with Cable & Wireless so I can't have any more.
I repeatedly told them I had no offers in the 90s, it was at a certain price and I paid it, I also asked if they could prove I had these imaginary offers.

Remember that if VM increase their contract price you are entitled to give 30 days notice to cancel the contract without penalty. It must be within the 30 day period from notification. Hopefully that may fit in with the Lila Connect installation.

I've been told February to April 2023 in Hanley area. I really hope it comes around these dates as I'm currently running on wireless 4G. Gigabit will be a huge welcome in my home! :)

I'm getting emails now saying 'Very soon'.
My mate is getting 12 months free because he's under contract with Virgin so I emailed our local contact Tom moaning about it and he knocked my first 4 months off :)

I'm on a similar promise as my VM contract runs out in Feb 2024, but that means I still have to pay VM. If I can get it to coincide with the anticipated VM price increase I can cancel the VM contract and willingly pay Lila saving money overall.

My problem is my wife wants to retain the existing "landline" number and whilst I can get a voip phone and port ghe number with lila, there are no stand alone telephone lines any more 9ther than at silly prices. I believe BT start at £23 per month plus charges whereas a voip would cost £12 all in. Anyone know an alternative, remembering that cancelling the VM phone voids the contract.

Talk her out of it, there is no need for a landline any more.

Funny conversation me and my brother in law had with a 3rd brother in law where he was proud of his BT landline and how much extra he was paying to get free calls at the weekend and cheap calls in the week.
Me and the other BIL looked at each other, picked up our mobiles and said £10, any time, any where, third BIL was dumbfounded,

Been happily married for 46 years and intend to keep it that way!!

Both of us have mobiles and I rarely if ever use the landline. Will transfer it to voip just want to park it until I can cancel VM

Best I can find is direct telecom on a 28 day contract but would need then to port away again to voip.

Just wondering if anyone had an experience

Weird how they think, been with mine since 1974 and she's the one saying bugger it off.
There's only one relative who rings us on it and they were mentioned above and we've already told them they will have to ring our mobiles.

I just had my 1Gb up and down service installed today. It took the team about 40 minutes with laying the cable.
£29.99 a month, but because they delayed and I had to keep paying Virgin in the meantime, they're waving the £9.99 standing charge for six months, so I'm only paying £20 :)
Very happy. Moreso for being able to say bog off to Virgin.

What postcode?

Yesterday drove out of my area ST3 2DJ which had been cabled in October 2021 and Lila were digging up the end of the street !!

Finally got my install date ( march 23rd ) for smallthorne, woohoooo ,for anyone who has had it installed have they run the cable through one room to get to the living area or just installed in the first room they get to ?

Just waiting for Virgin to notify me of their 13,8% price increase.. I can then cancel and if necessary instal NOW broadband on a rolling monthly contract as an interim until lila connect.

While NOW has a connection charge its still way cheaper than paying the remainder 12 months of Virgin.

The installation will require a box on the outside of your property to terminate fibre from outside. It will then require a second box on the inside that requires power as thats what you connect your router to.
