Lila Connect - VX Fibre 1gig - Stoke on Trent

I have three floors in my house so I am considering in getting a Mesh setup with 3 devices on each floor, so I'm just wondering what I should be going for to make use of this gigabit line.

I'm having it installed in May and they told me you get a WIFI enabled router with the install.
I believe it is this one which has mesh support included. DX3301/DX3300/EX3301/EX3300-T0 SERIES.Dual-Band Wireless AX1800 VDSL2/Ethernet IAD/Gateway

Lila will provide you with their own WIFI 6 Router (In my case it was a Zyxel EX3301-T0). You can also use your own personal Router if for example you need a mesh system. However, they claim they do not provide support to Third party hardware not provided by them... pretty much what most ISPs say.

I guess the second part of your question, i.e., the best one to go for depends on individual circumstance, need and budget, but whichever, it must be WIFI6 compliant to get the best of superfast internet over WIFI with WIFI6 enable devices.

My bass player lives half a mile away just off Longton Hall Road, had his cables put down in Sept 2021 and his date is March 6th.
It's really pigging me off.
My singer had had hers at least two years in Trentham.

BTW, haven't seen your partner or her Dad for a long time.

Theyve not been out for ages. Her dads not been very well since he went in hospital with his feet.

Youve done a few pubs near us as well. I think you were literally accross the road a while ago at the Sea Lion - or old bulldog as thyeyve stupidly renamed it.
 
Had them knock on my door today, and I'm sorely tempted as I'm out of contract with virgin. Is all I'm asking for the static IP address for £6/month extra in order to get Open NAT on Xbox live?

P.s. they were really strict with where the termination point is, and wouldn't deviate from the very easiest front facing wall. They mentioned nothing about power to the box either........

The box outside (black termination box) doesn't need power. Power is needed to the device you connect your router to, they call it an SDD (similar to what BT would call ONT).

Also yes to the Static IP for £6 for open NAT.

Thank you. In your experience did they give any help installing or flexibility in the path from the box to the SDD?

Yes but this was back in Jan 2021. I had the black box installed on the outside of house as normal (under kitchen window). From that they ran the cable around side of house to the SDD which I had installed in my garage as I could then pass the ethernet cable through the wall to living room where my router is. Kitchen is at front and living room at back.

Thanks, that's the sort of thing I'm hoping for......is the connection between the box and the SDD an ethernet cable do you know?

If so I was thinking I could pre-run the cable as I'd like it to go before the installation engineer arrives.

Tell the truth I'm half tempted to just pay virgin to increase me to a gig down, think they only give 100Mb up but I have all the stuff setup and it's less risky with us having work from home jobs being dependent on it.......

Not sure what cable it is sorry. They did all the install and I only needed to run ethernet cable from SDD to router. When I called them originally, they did send someone out to have a look at what I wanted to do before I booked the install.

Whatever is easier for you is likely the best option. I was only able to get max of around 40Mb so being able to get 1Gb with this was ideal. if they couldn't have done what I wanted, I would have needed to run an ethernet cable outside and back into living room or find a way through house.
