Living in University Halls

OT but what are you doing with a watercooled PC since you're not gaming? Surely there is nothing else that would actually test it!

Since when did watercooled pcs relate to gaming? I built it because I enjoy modding, I enjoy silence and enjoy silly overclocks from cheap cpus.

Gurdas - what are your views on the Great Dover Street Apts? I am starting to become a bit concerned about it, how small are the rooms etc?

GDS is fine, you'll have a hoot. The halls are sociable, room size is ok, you get an ensuite and most of the Kings first years are in those halls.

Does your term start mega-early then or are just living out a box as it is? :)

Im going down on the 20th myself. A few days to get settled in before the maddness.

Its private accomodation (im in my 3rd year), and the contracts starts from the 1st, like most private student accomodation
Term starts at the end of september, but living out > living at home, so im moving out as early as possible!

I finished my job today, got to wait until the 24th to move in though :(

I'll be 22 living with mostly 18 year olds, could either be really annoying or really fun :D

We have a 23yr old living with us (there are 6 of us). He's a legend, even more immature than us, the old mans jokes will never die. TBH I didn't even realise he was so old when I met him.

You will fit in fine. Just dont act like an old codger!

Dont worry about it, I'm 22 as well (Although all my mates are a bit older than 18 - youngest just turned 20) and it makes no difference.

Infact I am the only one who gets asked for ID every time we go out

I actually had to DRIVE HOME and get some the other night when we were out for my friends 20th... everyone else was fine!

You had a car with you while you were drinking? :p

I should get my keys on the 16th, going to start moving everything in slowly for the 25th when freshers week starts.

Here is where I am living, brand new and pretty much built!

The rooms are a bit small, but you have an ensuite which is cool. Go out of your way to introduce yourself to people in nearby flats... unlike halls, it's a bit harder to make friends with people due to the lack of common areas. Whilst there are a few, the apartments SSA and GDS have less of a social aspect than Hampstead or King's College Halls.
