The Pat said:If my maths is right that means you're paying £7033 for the year. One of the reasons I didn't bother to apply to anywhere in London. (I know there not all that expensive, but still moreso than pretty much elsewhere in the country.)

Spuderoony said:£133 a week is absolutely insane. How you can justify almost £20 per day for student digs is truly beyond me.
I pay £57.50 per week for my share of our 6 bedroom house in Hyde Park, Leeds.
gurdas said:It is a lot of money (cheaper than my school fees though) but it wasn't a hard decision when deciding to go to London. My goal, since high school, was to be in the heart of London and as long as you can handle the money side of things, it is fantastic.

gurdas said:Have you been to all the 3 places you mention? If so I don't think you'd be making that post. I've stayed in Manchester and Birmingham quite a bit as my close friends go to uni there and whilst it is nice, it just doesn't have the buzz a city like London has. They are nice cities, but not equal to London.
Raymond Lin said:But like you said, you need money to live well in London. Being a student, not many are in the sasme situation as you and could not sustain the life style you are accustomed to, living in other cities at 50% of the rent cost will free up a lot of money for other things. Not to mention many other things will be cheaper as well.

Considering they are a fair size room, WITH en-suite, 3 mins from the student union, 3 mins from my lecture halls and 5 minute walk to a train station where there are regular trains for a 10 minute train journey into Cardiff, I think i've done pretty well for myself

Trust me, you won't mind living 15 mins walk away as long as you don't have to climb that bloody hill for the 100th time that year and no, it doesn't get easier as time moves on.
If you have my room (J43) you earn yourself a free pint at the union. The same flat and I will give you 20p x 2 for a spin dry.
"Why the hell are they so fat even if they climb that hill everyday"
You will know what I mean when you get there

Raymond Lin said:LOL, there are a few fatties (is that even PC ? ) There are also a lot of fitties, He's in E11, I was in E73.
That hill is nothing, at least if you live in E block, thats minus that flight of stairs already. Besides, that little slope is nothing compared to a actual hill my mates live on in Brighton.
Superdude said:The first thing my dad said when he came to visit was "I can't believe how many fat girls are walking around"
My house mates all nodded.
Looking foward to going back then? (if you are). I can't wait, lots of fresher girls and lots of house parties are in order.
Raymond Lin said:I didn't know that many Fat girls...........may be they avoided me.
