local weather... zomgwtfcows ?!

......my bike hit the deck 10 minutes ago and it was bleeding oil NOOO!

but its ok - i just forgot to screw in the dipstick thingy, however it is making a clicking noise now. stupid wind.

Ok, i'm in Wapping and so far we have had:

5 windows blow in.
A mobile scaffold tower on the roof of one of the buildings on site blew over (outriggers were installed apparently), crushing a glass enclosed smokers hut and also smashing two office windows.
Various large waste bins become mobile missiles.
Lots of general rubbish/paper all over the place.
Rain getting blown into into places where it usually doesn't.

And the absolute cherry on top:

The fibreglass roof of one of our Ford box lorries has blown off, leaving us with a "Lorry Cabriolet".

Happy days!!! :(

We're having fun here at work :)

Wall outside next to where we park our cars has come down - thankfully falling away from the cars, and onto the pavement (luckily no one walking past), and narrowly missed the car parked half on the pavement.

Branch from a tree has fallen down in the car park, very close to, and maybe scraping, a Jaguar parked outside. Edit: Been outside now, it's a Rover 75, not a Jag!

My mum (who works here too) is sitting up in her office on the 2nd floor, watching the branches on the tree fly around and coming gradually closer to her window - as soon as she sees it get too close she's going out of the office and not going back!

And we had a complete tree fall over back in December when it was really windy!

Hasn't been to bad here, was absolutely hammering down early hrs this morning, then it hammered down again when i was out about 11, its pretty windy to, but not as bad as what it has been, then sun was blazing, but now its getting dark and grey again, so looks like another hammering. :(

Im near Sunderland/Washington btw.

ive lost all 11 panels of my 6 foot fences this morning in Doncaster South Yorkshire, blowing really hard up here, probably not as hard as other places, oh and our wheelie bin has decided it doesnt live here and is trying to get away....funny thing is...its full to the brim....strong winds..

And the fences have concrete posts, which are starting to bend it seems...well in the ground, like they are working free

Just been up to have a look at the lorry and it turns out that the roof wasn't just fibreglass, it was aluminium panels covered in fibreglass sheeting. The wind has ripped it apart completely, I mean totally gone apart from a 4ftx3ft section that is flapping around like a demon.
I really wish I had a camera with me.

We've been having fun here in Manchester.

There was a power surge earlier which made all the computers restart, and just now we've had a terrifying few minutes as roof tiles decided to part from the roof.

They smashed the windscreen on one car (that was parked next to mine  ) and dented the bonnet on another.

It's bloody crazy. I nearly got lifted off my feet coming back into the office.

Not to mention a silver Focus in the car park was getting pelted with traffic cones before. One of them slammed into the door and left a dent.

Oh, we also had a few minutes entertainment as a family sized tramopoline made its way down the street.

A wheely bin scraped white paint (painted house number  ) across my mums new car, luckily no dents, but annoying nonetheless

I just got back in from Liverpool, there was a load of scaffolding/building materials getting blown off the roof opposite the bus stop, and into the street below. I walked to the next stop somewhat swiftly, after advising some other guy to do the same.

I just drove home and had to dodge falling branches and trees in the middle of roads! One tree was blocking a whole street and there was a guy standing there to stop people going down (great job ;) )

A tree in my garden has fallen over, all

I'd advise anyone to be wary of walking near scaffolding at the moment.

That would definitely be good advice, but it wasn't the most noticeable thing really, as the building has been completed for a few months now. As I was walking away there was an ambulance that went down the road, hopefully nobody was hurt by any of it, as they were very sizable pieces of metal (about 10ft long), but they were all over the place.

my brother was carrying a mattress because my sister is moving house and the wind blew him down the road and he couldnt stop :D

Apparently a roof from a farm building is sitting on the M69. Of course it's surrounded by Police who are keeping a close eye on it :p

To add to the Wind Devisatation I just noticed this tree had come down in my back garden.

Also I was in town earlier on and was walking through the local market and some guy had just finished setting up his stall, and the wind flipped it all upside down. Couldn't help but giggle to myself. :D
