Logitech K750 Solar Powered KB

Bit of a thread revival but wanted to know how people are getting on with this keyboard? Looking to get one as the keys/look really appeal to me. But i ahve heard conflicting things about flimsy feet etc

Thoughts a year on?

Unless you rest your chubby arms on it at the top then the extending feet are no a problem. It should be flat anyway :p

I've had the K750 boards since release. All have been fine, nothing has broken and the key wear is better than others I have had including the Dinovo For Notebooks which was about the same weight and thickness.

The battery in mine is now almost completely worn down, didn't think it would be a problem. My desk is next to a window and tbh its not dark in my room, when I turn on the lights the keyboard doesn't pick up any light, the panels aren't sensitive.

Even with a desk lamp, I did put the kb under the lamp and yes then it did get enough light.

Wish I'd got something that used batteries now, as I understand you only need to replace the batteries in wireless keyboards every few years anyway? Whats the problem.

You don't say what kind of room lighting you have and what power.

Mine have had no issues as I open my blinds most days.

I put the kb in our conservatory for hours, and the charge went up to 70%

But its now at 23%, if you can't get a constant light supply for this kb then don't buy it imo.

If you have a unobstructed source of light from a window - fine, my desk is in the corner of the room though. A desk lamp that can be angled would be good too.

My ceiling spotlights have no effect whatsoever and my bedside lamp has no effect.

If you don't have unobstructed source of light do yourself a favour buy another wireless kb.

I do not understand the concept of this kb, a ordinary wireless kb can run on the same set of batteries for 3 years with moderate use. This k750 also has a internal battery...which will need to be replaced in a couple of years. What problem this kb is solving I do not know.

Absolutely no problems here with either of mine as mentioned with charging in room lighting or window lighting. Drop takes weeks to occur if I give it no light.

How long are you leaving it on after you say you charged it in light? Also something on your PC may be stopping the KB from going into "sleep" mode.

^ I don't think it ever goes into sleep mode, when I go to use the PC after its been on there is no delay when typing, shouldn't there be a second or so delay?

Surely I can just stick the keyboard on a window sill while I am in work or something similar?

Ideally you would have it in direct sunlight or direct lamp light at all times, if you stick it somewhere where theres lots of light yes it will charge up, but it won't hold the charge for very long.

If you have a desk lamp that can be pointed at the keyboard area then you will be fine. I only have a bedside lamp on my desk, ambient light from a lamp like that is not sufficient.

I am now considering the hp wireless elite keyboard as a replacement, atm its not a serious problem but it does seem to be in a downward spiral of charge decreasing and after being left in a sunlit area not holding the charge for very long.

I definitely think yours is faulty dude.

Mine holds charge in accordance with what Logitech spec, about 2 months.

Both if mine^^

Just contact Logitech and they will send you a new one pronto.

Do you think theres problems with the solar app, when I spam the solar button on the kb my percentage keeps going up...maybe just a software issue?

That happens on my app too. It goes up until it reaches the "actual" charge of the battery. I don't think the solar app keeps track in the background so is playing catchup on each press.

Eames, it sounds faulty, Logitech will probably send you a new battery first and if that doesn't fix it, they'll replace it for you.

Same sort of thing happened with the first one I had, within a few days of getting it the battery was down to nothing. My replacement has been perfect since though, battery never drops below 100%.

Edit: Also, are other people finding that manufacturers mentioned in posts are being turned into links now?

That looks incredibly sexy, tempting to change from my G19.

I thought most gamers were located in dark basements though, so might not be that popular :p

Logitech really make some stunning products.

My new K750 is inbound. Thinking of getting the Logitech MX Performance mouse to keep it company. Anyone use this mouse?

Yup, have had mine for about 4-5 years now (well the MX revolution anyway, very similar) - very comfortable, tracks well, battery life lasts for ages between charging. Only downside is that the middle wheel doesn't function well as a middle mouse button (at least on mine anyway). I think the minor update to the MX since mine has improved this aspect though.

Hmmmmm. Thirty eight quid plus free game seems a no brainer too......

I currently have the G500 but want something with a better shape and slightly larger. Would this be it?
