logitech support

So you gave them serial number etc and they haven't replaced it??

Strange as i thought from the serial number they could tell where and when it was purchased.

Also if its under guarantee why not get onto where you purchased it from, they should be able to help you out.

Yes i gave them the p/n, m/n, i just read that the warranty is 3 years on them this one is under a year.

I bought it from here.

I wanted to test logitechs customer support.

All he said was that one of the buttons went. I'm asking how :)

It sounded like you were asking how he'd "broken" his mouse. Logitech often ask people to smash the item beyond repair and take a photo showing the resulting mess with the serial number and then send a replacement.

oh! I thought that they had replaced the mouse for that reason *facepalm*

Unfortunately with every good customer support - there will be people that take the pee.

If your serial number is one that would now fall outside the warranty period, even if it's been sat inside a warehouse and you only just bought it, then they may want a receipt. Fairly reasonable in my opinion - and with 3 year guarantees etc quite a fair request and still beats anyone else i've used.

I can't fault them and always buy their products if what I want is made by them.

LOL yeah, can see it now:

"Dear Mr Logitech, I've just planted a hammer in the middle of my G19, can I have a new one please?"

"Certainly sir, many congratulations on the accuracy of your hammer blow"

hehehe

i did get asked for a reciept but i was honest and told them i didnt have it, i actually bought this off a local advertising website, so was second hand, got lucky really it still had warrantee :D

They are pretty impressive support wise. I've only had to contact them twice about two separate issues:

1) My Logitech universal remote charging station kept breaking contact with the remote stopping it charging. Contacted then, they asked for my address and sent out a replacement station. Didn't need to send the old one back

2) Couple of months ago my Z5500 5.1 speakers packed up, bit a of a known issue with the connection box. It was over a year out of warranty so contacted them hoping I might be able to order a replacement box, they asked for my details and said they would replace the entire system with the new Z906 system worth over £300. Again didn't have to send back the old one.

I've heard the Z906 is not as good as the Z5500, so kind of a downgrade.

How do you contract them regarding problems though? Do you just go through support on their website?

I could have got a brand new Logitech G15 keyboard, all I had to do was as requested by Logitech, smash my keyboard up with a hammer and post a pic, they'd send a new one then, I decided against it, it seemed wrong and abusive.

Can email or phone.

I've had 2 MX518s replaced (currently on my third) for the same issue, doesn't say much for the product quality to be honest.

Top service when I received faulty X540 speakers from them though, within 3 days I had a set of Z506 delivered and kept the X540.

i know haha, only just started using photoshop, need to re do it, feel free to make me one if you want haha

I'm sure logitech make these threads up on forums their selves, as it always seems to be a low contributor giving maximum praises. Call me a cynical drunk, but i personally have never had good support off them despite spending £1000s with them so they get a thumbs down from me.

Always an Indian call center who understand very little English. and is just frustrating.

Now with me i have bought for example 3 dinovo edge keyboards, harmony 1000 x2, 3x = Logitech dark field mice, and a few Logitech Squeezebox a few web cams, and that's only within the last couple of years, without going back 10+ years. And they have been beyond poor.
