London Bridge Incident

Hope this doesn't come to anything major. My office's status was raised to 'critical' on Friday as expecting imminent attacks and to be vigilant and watchful. :(

As the mayor says, this is an unfortunate part of being a big city, nothing to be done so let's move on now until the next atrocity happens.

Or we have a good police force which can deal with the real threat that exists in London.

You are skewing the mayor's comments to mean the exact opposite of what he actually said.

I wonder why you might be doing that.

There's always a solution, just expand tramways or make special transit tunnels for cargo. Short of making London's pathways blocked by massive walls, there's no stopping this unless you stop it all.

Quite a lot of London has hidden obstacles on pavements. Trees, large plant pots, large spheres and other ornaments. All placed there on purpose to prevent cars driving on the pavements. This needs to be implemented everywhere including the bridges.

So current situation seems to be:

White van mows down pedestrians on the bridge
3 men jump out and start stabbing people

Presumably, armed police return fire.

All coming from eyewitnesses so far though.

It looks like armed police were there within a couple of minutes so how would that help?

Haha, but now isn't the time for jokes.

Because armed police can't be everywhere it's that simple really. Someone armed with a gun can kill a fair few people while normal police wait for the ARU

From what we know here, it wouldn't have helped tonight though. ARV in London are everywhere.

Can i respectfully remind everyone of Nitefly's advice not to be 'a jerk' when we're responding to the cold blooded murder of our citizens.

Police have just entered a bar nearby telling people to get down...

Confirmation of at least one man with a knife from a BBC journalist on the bridge.

So how long before the Police tell us they knew the people involved but were powerless to stop them because of some ****** up law that prevented them from doing anything?
