LOST..... How do you think it will end

Ive never watched lost. Anyone think it would be worth starting at number 1 and watching the hole lot? :o

Buy them all on DVD, have a week off work, and watch them all back to back :D .. or just do it in a few weekends like i did! awesome fun, you won't get bored. the only frustration is when you get to the end you want more!

Have beer and popcorn, lots of it!

Having never watched, are you guys saying that this show:

1: Started out as a group of dudes struggling to survive on a desert island.
2: The afformentioned dudes get off the desert island.
3: Is now some sort of apocalyptic, time travelly, Sci-Fi based show that is nothing to do with it original premise?

Sorry for being an idiot Nix but I really love Lost and I've enjoyed it from the start to up until now even though I KNOW they have strung it out.

Some more polar bears will show up and kill all the survivors of the plane crash. Or, the survivors turn into polar bears. Or, there will be no polar bears at all.

OK.

Don't want spoilers, but I've still S05 to watch yet, and then I'll move on to the TV airings :)

There seems to be more to the numbers than that though - ie the mad man, the lottery win, the bad luck etc. Same with the polar bear and the significance of Walt's teddy.

I'd be dissapointed if they were all just misdirection.

Walts teddy? Are you sure you're not thinking of the kids from the tail section? One of them had a bear when they crashed and it was shown again when the others walked past Michael and Eko, I assume to show that the kids were still alive.

This isn't your average show where you sit down, watch and get up and live your life.

Lost, you have to be there for every minute of every episode. You need to have a good think about what's going on during and after each episode. This is the beauty of Lost - it's a program where you're rewarded for speculating. In the grand scheme of things, everything in the show makes sense - its just that either, you havent been given enough information yet, or you didn't pick up on the information - that you can't answer the question.

Fair enough, there has been some strung out stuff - but merely to fill up the episode list. But since Series 4, everything has been concise - to the point. And if you havent yet seen the episodes that aired a few days ago in the US, Im telling you you're in for a treat. But only if you've watched and understood everything thats happened so far. Otherwise you're just going to come back and exclaim - WTF this show has gone completely off the rails.

Lost imo is awesome, its one of the only TV Shows i've bothered dedicating myself to watch. Like Inazuma said, its draws you in with questions and cliff hangers. If thats what you're into then you'll like lost, if you dont, then you probably won't.

Sure some episodes have been stuck in as fillers imo, for example, most of Season 3.. but lets not forget the joys of the writers strikes throughout that season eh :( The only "bad" season for me, and i still thought it was prety good! hehe

Who really cares anyway, all a matter of opinion

A few people get off the island, but it's more important they stay on the island so they go back. The time travel arc lasted a season (5) and apparently is finished with now. It has everything to do with the original premise, still.

I couldn't have explained it better myself tbh. Lost essentially is one big mystery, and all good mysteries succeed by creating speculation, intrigue and curiosity in the viewer. If you don't think any of these when watching lost and are just frustrated (It does have filler episodes, but name me a tv show that didn't, seriously). and always come to the conlusion of this makes no sense , this sucks! then this isn't the show for you.

There's no point speculating when it comes to Lost, most of the time the answers are linked to things we've not yet seen and so couldn't possibly be guessed.
I like the show but all the "mysteries" to me just feel like lazy writing - "hey, take this tiny bit of information and we'll tell you some more next season when we've decided where we want it to go".
