i signed up for lotro today but for some reason when it get hlaf wayy through downloading it just stops

so then i tried wow and i needed to download 4.5Gb at 70kb/s so i just turned the ****e off

i hate sky i really do :mad:

my problem lies with my internet although i could go to my m8s who lives less than half a mile away with the same internet and it'll download straight away

i'll try eve as soon as i get back

how do i find the ocuk lot and do people communicate via voice or text as i dont think the mic on my beaches will work on the pc (not sure though)
 
So I've been having a gander at the LOTRO store. Granted, it's the American version, but from the looks of things, the big spenders - expansions, mainly - aren't that expensive, or possibly the more mundane items cost a fortune.

2500 for Moria and 2000 for Mirkwood, seems quite cheap compared to extra character slots for 600, bank slots for 500, cosmetic clothes and house decorations mostly 40 - 200. I don't like the fact that you can buy your way up the virtues, I'd rather they were still earned, though it's costly to buy your way through all 10. Anyone know how many points us in the Master Race get a month?

Lifetimers or subscribers get 500pts free each month, so assuming that they didn't gain points by any other method , which is unlikely , its only roughly 4 months and then you can get an expansion for "free" , quite like it I must say.
 
Haven't we been gathering points for some time, though? I seem to remember that we started collecting points from August or so and they'll be available when f2p goes live.
 
I'm a bit confused. I used to subscribe to LOTRO in 2007. I still have my account and I still have the game box.

Am I a premium player? VIP? I'm too tired to read up and work out what's what! Should I just install and see what happens?

You'll be premium. If you elect to sub again, you'll be VIP for as long as you pay for it. Still better than the free players. I hear on the US servers that free players aren't allowed to start conversations with premium players without being addressed first, and VIP players can ride free players like mounts.
 
Hi folks,

I'll be arranging for some server events on Tuesday evening from 7pm UK time on the Preview Test Server.

I full encourage everyone to sign up to the Free 2 Play test and help test so we can get the Europe launch soon. All who take part will be given 500 points as long as you login into the test server.

the download is coming up and maybe up now!
 
I am sure that f2p games can work well but they need to balance everything just the right way. I will test it with LOTRO as this game is at lest decent to play, from most reviews this is one of the best mmo there is on the market.
