LOTRO free to play going ahead.

Trying to download this now and it is not using my full speed of my connection, any reason for this?

You *might* be downloading the US client which I believe includes a download manager called Pando Media Booster. Aside from giving you slow download speeds, it also unwittingly seeds the file as you download so it destroys your bandwidth. Have a quick look in your system processes to make sure. If it is the UK client and it's going slow, no idea :(.

i only just recently redownloaded LOTRO and the UK one uses pando aswell, it cripples your internet although the client still downloaded at 1mb/s+.

Thank you. Just killed pmb.exe in the process and speed has doubled to correct speed and machine is now usable over RDP.

I can't get this damn game installed on my SSD.

Tried granting admin permission to the folder, disabling UAC, antivir, running as administrator. Don't know what to do with it, TBH.

Plenty of people play it, we just don't install it on a regular basis :p

How are you installing it? From disk or download via the website?

I keep thinking of playing it again, but I just cant be bothered to reinstall it yet. I'm still grinding in Guild Wars 1.

In DDO, I've done pretty much everything in the whole game on 3 characters and got bored of the repetition, but I absolutely loved the combat. In Lotro I found the combat seriously slow boring but loved the crafting.

GW2 is going to have a full crafting system similar to Lotro, and with much faster paced and enjoyable combat with lots of variable skill builds and classes, so I'm honestly just far too obsessed with waiting for GW2 now to bother with going back to other MMOs.

limited bags, traits, max gold, etc. And only quests in the first few areas to take you to lvl 20/30.
You can ofc buy everything via micro transactions. Not sure how much it would cost to unlock everything you "need".
You could always lvl by killing mobs after you run out of quests, but thats a lot of boars :)

You can grind deeds to get turbine pts if you dont want to spend a penny, i tend to get pts when they are on offers and buy the quest packs and such when there are offers on, only missing the trollshaws now, will be getting the gold cap from the store on tuesday when its down in price, been doing the explorers and bree reputations with my 3 different toons just to get the pts for it :D

I play on the american servers (Dwarrowdelf) , had bought some stuff of the quests from the store before they had released the EU servers so i never switched as i would have to start from scratch again.

Logged in again yesterday for the first time in a long while. Nice to see some old friends still playing.

Going to spend the next day or two remembering what all my buttons are for etc and trying to figure out how to start Lothlorien.

Nice to see so many OC folks on Laurelin, my main is Carathir, in the kinship Sanctuary. Wave if you see me...

I'm on Laurelin, running my first ever female character because the male models looked crap, and i wanted to be a Captain. I'm just starting the Barrows and then off to The Lone-Lands, names Wescar as well.

If people are wanting to join the kin just post in here. I've gone over to rift but I'm looking at doing a lotro instance night maybe one night a week.
