Hi there

Had the phone call today, June 2022 delivery and I asked about spec change as in colour as the lady said she cannot confirm but changing from blue to red could delay delivery. She also said a third deposit request is now unknown and may not be required. She said finance, payment and trade in quotes will be available from around January and any payment, finance or trade in needs to be done 30 days prior to delivery.

Here is the email I also got:

Thank you for your time on the phone today.

As discussed, we can confirm that your Emira V6 First Edition has been scheduled for build and will be available for you in June.

From January you will be able to go online and view your finance and payment options and see the list of Lotus agents who will be ready to hand over your car. If you are interested in trading in a car, you’ll be able to get an indicative valuation online.

Then up to 30 days before your car is due to be ready for delivery, we will invite you to complete your payment, sign your contract and make a final decision about where you will collect your car, or if you would like it delivered to your home address.

Please let me know if you have any questions or queries in the meantime. If not, please do have a merry Christmas on behalf of Lotus.

Was good to get some good news as in bad news we unfortunately have Covid right now which has resulted in us cancelling all our family Christmas plans, so far I feel well and ok, the Mrs is worse off but she should be fine. If we survive until Christmas Day then we should be in the clear.

Back to the car I’m a little tempted to change to red along with red interior just wish I could see a car in the flesh in red to make that call. I guess I could just proceed with my order and the moment base configurator opens is order another car in the exact spec I want and maybe even with the AMG to give it a try but we shall see…..

P.S. Those given June deliveries what colour did you pick?

All the best to you and yours. Hopefully it won't get serious for you.

Interesting, not had a call yet although I have missed a call with a withheld number but no message left suggest it likely wasn't them!

I've chosen Shadow Grey, lower black pack, silver alloys, yellow callipers and yellow stitching on the alcantara interior. Oh and the tracker.

I was sorely tempted with the blue but I felt this was a bit more subtle and that's what I'd prefer.

Yellow car in the flesh, pictures of calipers, wheels etc:

Yellow looks damn good!

Wished they would get a red one out doing the rounds, come on Lotus!

Chinese yellow one has confirmed in my head I've made the right choice :)

Also made a new instagram @YellowEmira

Roll on May!

Also interesting the Chinese demo cars have 'EMIRA' on the seats. the UK one had 'LOTUS' on the seats. Wonder what will turn up on delivery day....

Yep I'd rather it says Lotus personally, but not that fussed, Lotus seem to be messing with the seats a lot, really hope they get it right.

Yellow is a great choice, I am biased but I too would have gone yellow but I like my cars like a bag of skittles, so was hoping for a bright green or orange (if I don't keep Exige) but playing it safe with the blue as I've seen that and like it, though if the red is bright in the flesh I would prefer that along with red leather interior, but its too much of a gamble having not seen in the flesh.

Quite exciting though, the Evora I drove was superb, this will drive better so gonna be ace, the only downside I forsee is those maybe coming from big power stuff might find it feel a bit slow, as the V6 SC is very linear and pulls well but the weight of the Evora did impact how rapid it felt, the Emira will add another 50-100kg on top of the Evora, which is why I had to try an Exige whilst I still could as 1100kg and 410HP is a great combination, the downside is the cup 2 tyres make the car not fun to drive at the moment, which is why I have selected the Goodyear tyre as if I keep the Emira it shall be driven all year round and be used a lot as one good thing about Lotus is they are reliable been a Toyota drivetrain, I've had no issues and the issues people generally get is silly stuff like trim falling off, which I hope for Lotus sake they have sorted with Emira.

The main problem using them all year round is salt and water on the areas where the steel wishbones at the front are in close contact with the aluminium chassis. It will slowly eat the aluminum mount points unless you keep some protection on it (ACF50). It affects the Elise and Exige but not the Evora.

Surely if it does not effect the Evora, then it also won't effect the Emira considering the Emira is supposedly an evolution of the Evora?

I'm hoping the pricing is high and finance deals horrible so I'll feel better about deciding to wait for the i4 :D

Seriously, super excited for those getting calls for delivery dates in June, just part of me kicking myself as it could have been me.

Think I posted few weeks ago that mine is due June 2022.

Also had a lovely surprise from Lotus today coke in the post which was a free certificate of providence for my Exige:

I had enquired about this but when I was told they are £200 I thought I’ll skip in that so to get me free in the post today was really nice.

Also nice to find out my car is number 6 of 6 Exige 20th in same exterior and interior colour spec ever made and I think there is two in the U.K.
