Honestly that's bloody lovely. Was thinking about getting a sensible car off finance after the current one runs out, which could free up the funds for something to sit next to the M535i in the garage... Might as well be one of these right? I mean, I'll be 40 soon...

So this morning, despite already being contacted about collection preferences and post purchase warranty support dealership choice, I got another call and follow up email asking much the same questions again. So Lotus received the same answers, again. Wonder if they'll ask again.

Are the deposits currently for the First Edition or are people laying out for the 2023 car too?

You can place a deposit and that will get you in the queue, then you decide as and when what spec you decide to lock in, so if you wait for a base car it will ensure your higher up in the queue as to speak.

Ahhh ok interesting. There's a lotus dealer down the road in Prestbury, guess I'll swing in and chat
I think you’ll still be told the same as I was by the same dealer group (Oakmere) that they can’t take a deposit as dealers are totally out the loop and to go direct to Hethel.

Weird, people on emiraforum and PH using dealers but I'll assume you're right.

In any case by all accounts it appears I'm going to be wayyyyyy too late to get one from the factory so I might hold out for a 1 year old when they start showing up

No doubt Schmee's will arrive before mine, despite him ordering it later lol, the 'car youtuber advantage'. His ordered spec is almost identical to mine as well as I posted about a few months back.

The one in the video is one of Hethel's demo cars, not his actual ordered one. Yellow does look epic though, can't wait.

Counting down the weeks. 6 to go (allegedly)

Harry Metcalfe has just put a review out. Overall very positive.

He made some interesting comments about the suspension. Seems that you'll have to opt for either a sports or touring suspension when ordering, as they don't use adaptive dampers. But the sports setup may be a little too harsh for road use. Of those who have ordered a car, what have you chosen (or have you not had to make that choice yet)?

Edit: hah...sod's law that as I posted that, I then went on to watch the Evo review. Although testing a sports model purely on track, Bovingdon states he did try it on the road and "can't see why you'd bother with the touring setup" so jury is still out on the better road setup i guess. Although he too doesn't seem that enamoured with the manual box:
