Love Britain ? - Vote UKIP.

People don't understand that we aren't in that much of a mess now, immigration is controlled, and there are viable alternatives (e.g. conservative party) such that no one has to vote for a single issue extreme party.

It isn't controlled, we have no control over the skillsets which are turning up, hence we are turning away engineers, nurses, doctors etc etc from elsewhere in the world in favour of as it appears from this thread, toilet cleaners and pizza boys with the odd Romanian gypsy pick pocket.

That's way I interpret it too.

Whatever the interpretation, there's nothing nicer than walking through London for example, and seeing people with different backgrounds interacting and adding culture to the environment in which they live. How boring it would be to live in a place with all the same stuffy old people.

Besides there is no "race" - we are the human race. I believe there are only 9 ancestoral gene-types anyway, so we're all just a mish mash of those. As far as I'm concerned we're all the same - we all bleed red, we're all human beings.

UKIP doesn't do anything for me, and I'm too much of a socialist conservative (I know right?) - there are bits from both Labour and the Conservatives (and to a certain degree the Lib Dems) that I like.

in your ideal world that is what happens.
in reality it is far from it I hope one day the area you live in sees an influx of immigrants so you can actually see the impact on a community for yourself rather than some romantic view

Most the kids at the local primary school don't even speak English any more and it would appear the parent's don't either or they are just plain ignorant.
any time someone has a skip on my street immigrants come picking through and it and just leave a huge pile of crap on the street next to the skip.
Unruly children playing in the streets at all hours.
most these people don't seem to own a lawn mower.

there has been two leather chairs sat outside where I live for weeks now as well as a smashed up TV thanks to my non English speaking neighbours

these people think stuff magically gets removed :| after you dump it outside.

they are in for a shock when the local housing association tears them a new one as I have been getting almost monthly letters warning people about dumping furniture and white goods outside.

I couldn't care less about the impact on the jobs market I care about where I live and what kind of respect people show towards the area.

Immigration isn't the reason I cant get a job in what I do, I think its a direct consequence on the cost of living, The prolonged recession in the North that hasn't really gone away and as long as UK debt is around I cant see it getting any better.

Now and again agency work will come about but that still doesn't mean you'll get the job. Very few Companies are hiring long term because of the fear work will dry up, how can you live a life like that ? I've never been on the dole in my life but I may be forced onto it, I'f I cant find work in my profession. look for unskilled work you may say but even those want experience and have to look through hundreds of applicants, or maybe I'll have to go back to college and train-up on something the government haven't said we have a shortage on, like they did with my current profession. though I may lose my house to fund it..

I live where I do because of government and I'm now jobless because of government.

Who do I vote for to change that ?

Good luck running your business on green electricity.

The simple fact is the Green Parties manifesto is a million times more sound complete and workable than the UKIP's:
http://greenparty.org.uk/policies.html

Many very reasonably policies in there that covers most of the important issues. Compare with the UKIP
http://www.ukip.org/issues

where is the education, health, welfare, transport, housing, energy, economy? It is just a mindless, unstructured and repetitive single issue rant about foreigners and the EU with factual errors (e.g, save 55million a day, completely bogus misinformation).
A few tit-bits of general tat to get the Daily mail fan-base salivating. "Scrap HS2" , yeah because that will totally change the economic outcome of the next 20 years.

The UKIP official policy just looks like a practical joke someone played. Mindless, illogical, irrational nonsense. It is hard to comprehend how anyone with half a brain can take them seriously. The Monster Raving loony party seems like a more sensible option with sounder policies!

Pretty much how I see it.

Very well said.

Interesting mix :p

Yeah there are things the left do that I like, as there are the things from the right - it depends on the policies that go with it. It's hard to get the "complete" package.

He's like most people, in the centre somewhere with a bit of a left or right lean depending on the current situation.

Good summation

The fabelled swing voter!

I've often spoiled my ballot when I wasn't convinced of either party. However, I like to remain open minded. :)

You are speaking like British people don't do this sort of thing, what point are you trying to make beyond trying to justify your own racism. I've watched my neighbours in Bristol dump a fridge on the side of our road next to a phone box and it be there for 3 weeks before my mother called the council to get it removed, they are white and British, they just happen to be scummy chavs.

Walk down any street in a city in the UK and you will see "what kind of respect" as you put it, british people show for the country they belong to.

How do the Greens plan to pay for all of that?

Planting money trees?

The reason you are jobless is due to economic reasons. Vote for whichever party you feel will bring economic growth. There is no single correct method to bringing economic growth.

But some other points are worth noting: you need to migrate where the jobs are and the salary/living expenses are appropriately leveled. If I stayed put where I grew up I would probably be stacking shelves in Tescos.
You also need to adapt skills to current market demands, retrain as and when necessary.

I can assure you it is not a romantic view, I've lived in numerous countries and been around the world a few times, and I've seen and experienced this from the perception of a local, and the perspective of being a foreigner.

I've lived in areas and countries, and towns that have a huge influx of immigrants. It really did not bother me in the slightest nor did it have a negative impact on my life or my neighbourhood. :)

In fact live anywhere in London and you will get lots of pockets of cultures like that.

Most the kids at the local primary school don't even speak English any more and it would appear the parent's don't either or they are just plain ignorant.

I'm not denying that a bit of education and a management of how to integrate isn't a good thing. Tolerating their less salubrious behaviours shouldn't be required - but who is telling them how to behave in this country? Other than the extreme right who hurl abuse and add no benefit/use to the argument, or the extreme liberals who say "now now let us all get along". There is no middle ground.

A little bit of housekeeping is all that is needed - a dos/don't guide. We need an interface between our groups and their communities to help them integrate and behave outwardly in a way that is acceptable to the rest of us. Denying them presence in the country however is not the way to do it.

I'm not saying they should get away with it, but merely suggesting that we need a way of giving them accountability for their behaviour.

they are in for a shock when the local housing association tears them a new one as I have been getting almost monthly letters warning people about dumping furniture and white goods outside.

As would most people who flaunt the rules - I've seen many "white" families who behave in an abhorrent fashion and completely disregard the rules - they understand them but purposefully ignore them so have even less of an excuse than not understanding the rules. It's no better or worse, but it just proves that there are issues there in the first place.

I couldn't care less about the impact on the jobs market I care about where I live and what kind of respect people show towards the area.

I think we all expect that.

Green economic policy is laughable. It is anti-capitalist and based on climate change hysteria.

I'm racist?

ahahahah go read the syria and libya threads

you might want to check the now listening thread and the hiphop thread as well.

how many racists listen to black peoples music?

So why do you think UKIP would be any different then? Especially when they are infeasible to begin with.

But that is completely beside the point - at least the Green Party have attempted to provide a complete policy covering all important topics. The UKIP haven't even bothered because they are too preoccupied with blaming the EU and immigrants. It is just a complete joke of a policy.

I don't but something has to change and if everyone keeps voting the big3 it's not going to happen.

It's time to give another party a chance imo they can't do any worse.

farage comes across as the least out of touch the with common man to me, maybe a lot of it is BS but at least if it is he understands the regular joes unlike cameron and the guy I can't even remember his name because he has no backbone

EDIT: clegg

I liked the money tree idea more than my taxes being increased...

1) Depending on how much you earn your taxes might not increase under such a policy

2) Even if you taxes would increase, that is irrelevant to the discussions. the fact is the greenparty have a far more sound and complete policy covering all important aspects with a perfectly reasonable (if unpopular with some) economic policy. That doesn't change the fact that UKIP policies are a complete joke in comparison, so yes , it would be much better for the greenparty to be in power and that makes it a far more intelligent vote.

3) I have nothing to do with the green party, I don't have any feelings about their policy, would never vote for them and their policies might have huge gaping holes. That is irrelevant, their policy is still a million times better than UKIP's embarrassing attempt. A child could come up with a more complete and logical manifesto!
