For 2560x1440 a 1070 isn't going to cut the mustard is it?

Not exactly same resolution but my 1070 eats everything at 2560x1080

With a G-Sync screen totally does it only 1 game so far I've had to turn down settings without G-Sync might have to turn things down in a small number of games.

Tempted with both the Zotac 1070 and the EVGA hybrid 1080. Although TBH by the time I have any spare time for gaming this year, Vega and Volta will be mainstream so probably a waste of time buying either...

I was going to get a 1060 or a 1070 but after the prices went up I started looking at 1080's and figured, what the hell.

I wanted a card where the fans remain idle until needed, for the sake of keeping things quiet when not gaming. Also I didn't even know that was on special at first. I saw the MSI lowered to 499, went away for a few minutes, checked again and it had dropped a tenner. So I went for it there and then.

You could buy it now, not use it (very difficult I know ), see how Vega performs and either keep it or return it.

The MSI 1080 Armour looks nice, runs cool and quiet too, just a shame there's no back plate and only a three year guarantee I believe, I was interested in the Zotac Amp until I read this one gets hot. But I'll leave it a week or two then order a 1080

Yeah, was tempted myself but I'll just wait for Vega and see what happens to 1080 & 1080Ti prices.
