I'm interested in the MSI GeForce GTX 1080 ARMOR OC. How do people rate these cards? Do they run quite?

Waiting first on Vega reviews.

I don't have one, but from what I have heard it's an MSI Gaming PCB with a terrible cooler attached. Great value if you plan on watercooling, but in general not a good choice for noise.

The gigabyte windforce three can be obtained at the same price which has triple fans and backplate not sure if it's any better?

Anyway finally but the bullet and ordered the Gigabyte GTX1080 G1 paid a fair price £459, having read some reviews, most seem pretty positive therefore I think this is a good price, just hope they won't drop by another £50 tomorrow when Vega is launched lol

Tempted - would any of these be a worthy step up from a 970GTX with it's 4GB (well 3.5GB) RAM? Driving a 2560*1440 60Hz panel and struggling to run some games in native res now!

Its an OK card, does the job and if your theme is black/white then it will fit perfect.

A 1080 is a good doubling of power compared to a 970.

And perfect for a 1440p resolution. 60hz is a limiting factor tho. I think actually the 1080 is too much power for that refresh rate.

My suggestion is if you have a Gsync panel then do some homework on whether a 1070 is better than a 1080 for you. If you have a Freesync panel then same applies Vega 56/64.

@Gibbo I'd like to mention that when I got my 1080ti there wasn't a haribo in it. I expect 2 when I get a 2080ti to make up for it.
