LTT called out

No, LMG is valued at $100m. You'll get it eventually.

Which is Linus’s YouTube business… I don’t think you’ll ever get it.

He should cash out now at a horribly over valued price. £100m is £50k per week for the rest of his life. That’s remarkable for a youtuber.

Seems so, but reserved only for the larger youtubers. GN cant do it.

There's no threshold for it, its a manual process. I've done it at work (music industry) for young / low subscriber channels (currently 80k subs but would have been maybe 30k at the time) that belongs to a well known artist - 5m monthly listeners on Spotify to give an idea of size. To even get a look in on that sort of thing you have to be via a network with a good relationship with YouTube. Someone the size of LTT can probably do it via direct contacts though, they're bigger on thier own than some networks.

This 'in-place' YouTube thing that was mentioned a few times does it mean you can just replace a video you have live any time with another without taking it down and re-upping?
Yes. YouTube has an option to replace a video and maintain all the view count and comments.

I’ve only heard MKBHD talk about it (this was a while ago). And he only found out about it when he made a video for Apple and they noticed a mistake once the video was live. Apple told him to upload an unlisted corrected video and to send them a link. The next day he found that the videos had swapped places. It was apple that had the sway to make it happen not MKBHD.
I don’t know if he is now big enough to have that kind of pull at YouTube now.

You have to admit that’s mega money for a guy with a YouTube channel and an opinion. Any firm paying 100 million is not seeing a return for decades if ever.

Linus should take the money and run.
you'd be surprised, It's a brand selling expensive tat to fanboys, and doing it quite well it seems. Not that I'm knocking it really it's what social media influencers have learnt makes the most money, it's not new Bands have been selling overpriced t-shirts and posters for decades for example.

£100,000,000… That’s a third of what a firm I worked for got sold for. A firm that had 77 people many of whom being the best in the world at what they did and a firm suppling critically important products globally at a healthy profit with a 70 year track record of excellence.

that stupid prime drink is supposed to already be worth 20 million alone, why the brand, proper 12 whiskey isn't worth the billion or whatever it was valued at as a whiskey, but it might be as a brand. even going back 50 cent made a 100 mill selling is water brand, Dr Dre and headphones... it's all about the brand and the rubbish you can sell people.
