It’s literally how YouTube works, and they shape their content to fit the algorithm.
I used to enjoy their old content but couldn’t care less whether they kept up the low quality content or decided to improve things. There are plenty options when it comes to quality tech content.
They have the staff, they have the tools. But Linus has become a money making machine, he is only focused on dollars, that's why every few seconds he's shilling for some sponsor or new over priced junk he's selling on his website. I bet late at night when Yvonne is asking when Linus when he is coming to bed, his answer is: Soon, but first, a word from our sponsor!
to maintain the high cash flow Linus needs viewers constantly addicted to the flow of videos streaming to their eyeballs. That's why Linus releases 25 videos per week on average and staff are worked like mad dogs to get these videos out each week, Linus brushes off concerns and is only focused on uploading that video
And by itself that's not a problem, if you're an entertainment channel then pushes out lots of average videos every week is fine. The issue is that Linus is trying to claim LTT labs is some sort of source of truth and that their data beats everyone else's when in fact they have the worse data on YouTube

Exactly this. It does feel like they have an identity crisis, and if they want to ride the algorithm then so be it, but I complete avoid clickbait videos or content that I know is only going to possibly lack accuracy.
MKBHD also has a couple inaccuracies but his thoughts/opinions on the tech can be insightful and worth a watch.
LTT has always been trash. Entertaining trash at times, but still trash. The man's a salesman, not a source of useful information. The channel's origins were in him trying to get you to go to NCIX's site and buy stuff. As light entertainment watching him drop things and look at wacky hardware and such, sure, it's amusing enough. But taking his reviews and such seriously? That's always been utterly baffling to me.
GN are right, as usual but I do wonder about motives, LTT/LMG is getting frankly too big and has it's fingers in too many pies at this point, framework laptop, hiring industy marketing execs with.. varied histories etc. There's a need to give them a bit of a reality check when it comes to professionalism. As a fan of both, for different reasons (GN for knowledge, LTT for entertainment) this was a hard watch.

I'm pretty sure I watched that water block video, was that the all in one GPU/CPU block? Yup the testing was trash so I can see why they would be upset up about it but to play devils advocate, the conclusion that no one should buy it wasn't exactly wrong. If GN tested it, their conclusion would have also been don't waste your money, even if you are a mad baller.

I wish I could say I was surprised by this, but Linus' attitude has long since moved from 'make the best video you can' to 'I have employees to pay, get it done'

And this is why I stopped watching them for reviews, too many corrections needed afterwards. Usually wait for reviewers like GN who are far more thorough with testing.
Yikes on the Billet thing though, I remember watching that vid and found it weird they tested it with a different GPU, they're not like CPUs where one block fits all, it needs to be specifically designed for it. But to promise to send back the prototype twice and only to auction it off...

If they need to use clickbait headlines and thumbnails in videos, then this is always the type of video to watch one eyebrow raised.
LMG videos have been this way for ages and I never really put full trust in them for years. They seem to target a market of viewer that isn't entirely tech savvy, but want to be, so will latch onto the creator that has the wackiest/extroverted approach, because being loud and out there sells.
GN is my go-to, along with HUB for actually useful technical info, along with the tech opinions that come with it. Throw Jay2C in the mix too because his stuff is entertaining as well as technically sound too a lot of the time.
Essentially LTT became too mainstream and realised they can capitalise off that popularity because their viewer base will slurp up whatever they do or say and the revenue makes itself.

only 20mins at 2x my prefered speed as he talks so slow, it's worth a watch though he calls out some really shady things and provides evidence of it. Linus on a WAN show basically called out "youtubers" who are supposed to be his "friend" so should give him the benefit of the doubt Steve basically went full FU terminator mode and said "nah brah" and called out poor testing, bad figures incorrect data screwing business over, shady/unethical practices the heatsink one is a hell of a story
TLDW a small start up lent LTT their prototype heatsink, they **** all over it and when the company asked for it back, they said yes several times, then sold it at auction at their LTT Expo profiting off their best prototype potentially ruining their company to competitors.
After this video I doubt Linus will be sleeping well tonight, when ever he gets called out he, has a little cry on the WAN show and is all "I don't know what i've done, people need to like me, they should love me"
