Looking to see further details / comments from LTT now. Seems to me things may need to be reviews internally at LTT perhaps.

LTT forums seems to be down now also.

I'll watch this when I get back from work tonight, but this one seems like jumping on the bandwagon for likes.

Is this monetised?

Linus won't change a damn thing off the back of this. He'll blame others and probably make a video completely avoiding the issues and instead trying to show examples of other people doing what he's blamed of. Then give it a clickbait title such as "This will completely change tech journalism forever!"

I do admire the way Linus has been able to build himself a multi-million dollar media company from what was essentially the "teenager with a camera" beginnings, but it's been pretty clear, even without all the employee interviews, that his way of getting there was just relentless pace and content for the sake of content to make sure his channel remains on the tip of people's tongue. Compare that to say MKBHD, who seemingly has no schedule and just drops videos whenever, and I think manages to do so with a very tight knit core team, the complaints about Linus' deadlines, and in turn the lack of fact checking/mistakes etc., come as no surprise.

Did you even watch the video?

LTT asked billet if they could use a 4090, they said “you could try”

It’s later found out (after the LTT video) that there’s a 1mm contact gap with the chip.

Linus then screeches on the wan show that it wouldn’t matter if they used the correct card, block is bad and dumb and he’s not wasting $100-500 of employee time to retest.

Then auctions the block off after being requested for it back.

Sheer scummery. It’s the doubling down on the block perf after being exposed that is the pinnacle of his idiocy

I dont think he cared in the slightest, the whole video was just him messing around and not taking any of it seriously. Then going off and auctioning off the block is just another clear sign that he does not care and probably thinks his companies big enough to get away with it anyway.

Is this really true? Linus' first videos were organised and instigated by his employers, NCIX... He's done well but it isn't like he built his following from scratch without the support of a big (at the time) retailer to springboard from.

One of his worst takes recently was when he said anyone using Ad Blockers are pirates. He was just butt-hurt he can't make revenue off of me. It was at that point my opinion of him started to change. I'm going to do one better now and install a chrome extension to remove the in video sponsor ads too.

He knows deep down his wife is eventually going to divorce him, Take the house, kids and half of his money as let's face it he's not exactly any womans 1st, 2nd or even 3rd choice, He knows this so he's trying to get as much money as possible from all directions so his half he's left with is decently sized... in that respect I can't honestly blame him.
