MACRO cheats? No Recoil etc

in the old days you would just edit the quake3.cfg file to ramp the picmip value down to as ugly as who could bear and cut out all the particle ans sky effects so you could see the enemy sprites easier. Then it was all up to you to practice the skills. Nowadays in the modern FPS genre people just pay to win via 3rd party programmes. FPS games basically dies when games like modern warfare became the staple and games like Quake series / UT ect got relegated to museum status.

Yeah there were some exploiters in those old games, but today its rampant and totally kills the game for non in your mothers basement types that don't violent jerk one out to a picture of 7 of 9 while "shouting pwned joo noob head shot" while sniping you from the other side of the map with all thei hack mods seitched on.

Quake 3 was basically the pinacle of the FPS genre, everything after that has more or less been a complete hive of scum and villainy...............

Cheating was still fairly rampant even back then, but a lot of the high profile servers were community run and for the most part kept the most noticeable impact of it away at the gate - people might get away with passive use of wallhacks/ESP or a bit of "aim assist" without calling attention to themselves but rampant use of wallhacks and full on aimbotting would get you kicked and banned in an instance. Other servers were too obscure to encounter cheating too often.

I remember the first ever PunkBuster ban wave of that era like it was yesterday, it was a massacre.

I remember the punkbuster bans in the earlier Battlefield games - it was funny to see someone in Battlefield 2 at the top of the scoreboard get kicked and a message pop up on screen: "NoobPwner69 has been banned by Punkbuster"

Timthetatman ( A high profile streamer ) and Boyaa, accuses another player of HACKING/CHEATING/IMPOSSIBLE KILLS. As does his friend throughout the game.

End of the round, still calls him out as a cheater!

Timthetatman realizes it's Breadman (another high profile streamer), and Boyya changes his tune and says ooooooooh that's Breadman, he's good bro etc

This is the issue I have with Enders in Battlefield 2042. If people didn't know it was Enders, say I hid his name I can guarantee people would say he was cheating.

Well known, played for hours zzzzz doesn't mean ****

Tim doesn't change his tune and say that. It's FaZe Booya, who he's playing with, who suddenly changes his mind. Tim still seems to think that Breadman cheated.

Really? I didn't notice that. Then that makes its even more suss suddenly realizing it's a high profile streamer

GGG for Tim for sticking to his guns then!

To be honest, that video alone is not entirely convincing. He gets lasered when he drops in, but he doesn't know where Breadman shot him from; if he was directly below Tim when he dropped in, it's not impossible to beam someone out of the sky like that.

That said, there does seem to be an element of all the top streamers (in WZ) being in on the cheating culture, including those like Tim who play with them but don't cheat themselves.

I've only skimmed the video but there was nothing in that instance of getting shot when he is dropping that alone suggests cheating - if someone was doing it over and over maybe, a good player is going to pull those shots off sometimes.

These guys all have thousands of hours at the top and you know when something feels off. The COD scene is plagued with dodgy aim assist + Mouse and Keyboard combos and god knows what else :D

You can definitely get the feel if you've been playing against someone over an entire match or longer but in isolation that wasn't particularly suspect - I didn't bother watching the whole video to get the full context as it was far too annoying.

Aye, I don't generally bother with COD stuff tbh. I'd rather be cheated against by some Chinese bot on Pubg that some American high on skittles tbh.

Honestly - I don't see any evidence of cheating in that video, lots of salt though!

It's possible he is - I just can't see anything that gives it away if I'm honest.

Why is it GG? They never once saw a POV from the alleged hackers. It just highlights a problem with the current online scene where people's default position is to assume someone is hacking rather than good. It's also nonsense because the accused person is the minaj skin who isn't even breadman. Breadman was the 'Bryant' named char in the ghillie suit. Twitty being his teammate and just shows how these hacker hunters farm clicks from people too willing to believe everyone is cheating.

Obviously you can believe what you want but that vid was deliberately made to call bbreadman a cheater yet here is his pov where all he did was miss a snipe!

Edit: Looks like someone already clipped Twitty POV:

MW2 was the turn off for me. No dedicated servers, **** off :p

That started the slide :( cheating just became rampant after a bit. But the game itself was solid, well some people might not like the kill streaks, but none of the silliness which seems to be necessary in these kind of games now :(

EDIT: Still annoyed I seem to have lost my double-nuke video, the intensity in the last half was off the charts and it really showed in my playing LOL.

Still got the screenshot from my first one though

Yeah, the player standard is all over the place, when a legit really good player shows up and goes 100-1 in 5 minutes, to many people it's inconceivable that they're legit. But often those people simply don't realise that there are players out there who put 3000-5000 hours into a game, and get so good it's incredible, especially if they end up outside of their skill group.

People have wildly different standards by whether someone is cheating or not, you only need to show someone a video of a good player - and every other person has a different opinion but nobody can know for sure (unless it's totally blatant, like 360 spinbots or whatever)

This is why you need a good anti-cheat system capable of tracking player performance, analysing patterns and behaviour - these decisions need to be made by machines, because they're generally much better at it than humans almost all of the time.

I watched that video this morning and it was funny how quickly Swagg U turned when he realized it was Breadman. Make of that what you will.

Dunno if this video has already been posted in the thread - but didn't realise (though not surprised) people were already using the approach for trigger bots and basic aimbots aided by the outline colours in some games https://youtu.be/RwzIq04vd0M?t=1992 though a step behind taking that approach to the next level which is basically undetectable unless someone uses it without care.

God dammit, is it never going to end? I ask myself why don't they put the same effort into becoming good but then I realise it is ultimately about money.
