Wow. So we have a guy here who wants to sterilise men who would keep an eye on their kids 24/7 and never put children in a situation where they could be snatched from an open window.

That is messed up.

Yeah and if your views were based on any truth you would know I'm probably more critical of media, especially the Daily Mail, than anyone else on the forums lol.
 
There is a difference between keeping a good eye on your kids and being an obsessive parent who seeks to monitor and control their every move assuming that is what Stockhausen is hinting at.

How old was maddie when she was abandoned then?

I'm sure she wasn't some teenager who was begging for independence or anything. I am fully aware of too much control can have on a child's psyche, especially in adolescence. Heck I think I know more about psychology than stockhousen.

My point was in support (I think) of yours - assuming he was inferring that keeping a close eye on your kid always equated to suffocating them or a bit creepy.

So which category do the Mcanns fall into? Since Stockhausen knows nothing about the rest of us, we can only really be discussing what he thinks of the Mcanns leaving their kids.

So which is it? Are the Mcanns negligent to leave their kids home alone to go drinking or is that perfectly good parenting?
 
He seemed to be taking exception as if keeping a close eye was a binary thing where it meant being over the top and not giving them any room to be themselves or something. But I'm not really clear on that.
 
I meant sorry to stockhausen, I am very sorry if I wrongfully thought I've studied more psychology than you, it was purely an assumption, you may or may not have studied more psychology than me.
 
Stockhausen attacking forum members for voicing their opinions on the McCanns being unfit parents.
Ya know parents that went out boozing with mates and left their 3 year old in an unattended apartment block in an completely different country.

I can taste the irony here.

In switzerland you see children who look around 7 years old taking the bus and going to school by themselves in England it would probably be considered child neglect.

it seems something went wrong with society in this country
