Madeleine McCann cops ask Home Office for more money to continue search for missing child

In switzerland you see children who look around 7 years old taking the bus and going to school by themselves in England it would probably be considered child neglect.

it seems something went wrong with society in this country

When I was living in London there were tons of kids from that kind of age upwards making their own way to school - there was a bus stop right across from where I lived you'd see dozens of them getting on in the morning unattended.

Dunno about around here as I live a bit out of the way of the regular school runs.

There is a huge difference though between that and a toddler aged child left alone in a building.

Their private investigator was found dead the other day, they ruled suicide yet they found blood all over the house, god knows what went on.

I still think she was abducted by for a pedo ring, myself

I hadn't heard of that so just went and read various reports on it.

Unsurprisingly, it doesn't seem as conspiratorial as you are inferring. The 'blood all over the house' was just smears which they determine came from him falling / stumbling around the house over time from being drunk ie : it wasn't fresh pools of blood covering the walls and floors.

This seems consistent with the fact that the house was full of empty alcohol bottles and his death was due to his alcoholism.

On the assumption the parents were not involved (aside from the negligence we know about of course) then I would be doing exactly the same as them. I would keep trying to find her by any means possible. I wouldn't stop. So I can't begrudge them doing so.

But that doesn't mean it's necessarily the right way to spend the extra money; it may be better spent looking for other children where the chances of success are greater.

You would be within your right to keep looking... however not at taxpayers expense... there has to be a line

Dude, she's dead. They need to move on.

Amazing they've managed to keep this racket going for nigh on 11 years now.

I used to walk to and from school from 8 years old, lots of kids did. It was only one road to cross (with lollipop lady) and a park to cross. Kids these days are barely streetwise by time they leave school for good.
