**Mafia 2 Benchmark thread**

Nvidia are in a no win situation here – if Physx works exclusively on the GPU ATI owners will moan that there being left out, use the older version of Physx (x87 code or whatever it’s called) that uses the CPU and Nvidia fanboy’s moan that PhysX is broken.

Physics aren’t a big deal and don't change the core gameplay, just enjoy the damn the game and don’t worry about it.

PhysX drivers are borked. On the other hand, it allowed users of both ATI and Nvidia cards to enjoy "incredible" in-game effects of PhysX. Now we all know much we gain or miss depending on the PoV :)

Great. Does it run on an invisible card?

Benchmark on my system: X2 250 @ 3.5Ghz, 4Gb DDR3, 5770 OC'd a little. All maxed apart from AA and Physx. No V-Sync either @ 1280x1024. Seems about right I think?

EDIT: Did a test with AA on. Performance drop isn't that much, although tbh I didn't notice much difference in image quality. Was quite jaggy either way.

max settings, no physx, anti aliasing on? (seems to revert to off after benchmark finishes?) and most importantly 3D vision enabled, gets me 48fps average in the benchmark, very nice indeed

K, I've got Physx working on the GPU, here's what I did, I'm not sure what got it work out of these steps, but it did.

Uninstall Physx from Control Panel.

Go to Mafia 2 folder in Steamapps folder and manually install the Physx SS in there.

Go to Nvidia control panel and set Physx mode to CPU only, hit apply, set Physx mode to auto and hit apply.

Voila'

35fps on 2x overclocked 460's maxxed at 1080p instead of 10 in the refinery.........

Fluidmark now works again, and so does Batman.

How are people capturing their benchmark results? if I 'print screen' all I get is a black screen when pasted. Tried ALT + print screen and got the same result.

Just installed and run benchmark 1920x1080 all max including Apex physx high. Physx indicator on screen showed GPu throughout. Driver 257.15.
Min 7.4
Max 71.4
Avg 25.5 Rank D
Not bad considering on a GTX 280 with full banana's....:D
BTW... the amount of particles on high Apex is
Now time to explorer... :D

Restart the game for any change in settings to take place.

ahh that worked, ok so 1680x1050, max settings, anti aliasing on, physx off, 3D vision on gives me 34fps average in the benchmark. to be honest i'm gonna be turning off the aa as for the performance hit it isn't worth it at all and 3D gives a little free aa anyway

also tried same settings with 3D still on,except aa off and physx on medium and got 22fps :(

3D and no aa rest all max is where it's at for me definitely
