[MAFIA] The Thirteen Doctors

The argument raged hot and fierce. Sensing the mood turning against him, one figure slipped into his TARDIS and made his exit.

Fortyseven (The Second Doctor), Town-Aligned Cop has decided to go regenerate somewhere else!

It is now Night. All players with Night Actions have 24 hours to submit them. Do not post in this thread until Day 2 begins.

Given that they were in the middle of an intergalactic temporal crisis, it came as some surprise when everyone turned out to still be alive in the morning.

It is now Day 2. Posting may resume.

There are 12 players remaining, so SEVEN votes are required to lynch. Deadline is 11pm Tuesday 10th March.

(Apologies for the delay in resuming the game; I haven't been well the last few days. Due to this delay, and also because it is the weekend, I have extended the deadline.)

Well, that was a crappy result for the voting, but good news overnight.

If only the cop had outted himself, we could have targetted someone else (preferably not me, of course!). Does this mean we need to concentrate on those who pushed for his lynching or those who chimed in at the end, or did the mafia calmly wait on the sidelines for us to chase off the town cop? As for the lack of a night-kill, that either means the target was protected, or did the mafia fall asleep again? There are too many variables...

The morning has not brought the clarity I hoped it would have, but at least no-one was killed. No real advantage either way, I'd say, seeing as we chased off our Cop.

Lots to talk about - why didn't we get a NK? Was it a role that stopped it? Jedi - would we hear about it if someone was shot but they were bulletproof?

Fortyseven - it says he decided to regenerate, does this mean he was lynchproof? Jedi's post doesn't say he is dead or isn't allowed to post in the thread anymore like the previous games run by iviv.

Posting was very slow at the end of day 1, until Egon took us to L-1 and Shami hammered 3 minutes later. Did Shami know he was hammering - he didn't write that he was hammering at the end of his post like he was meant to.

You would not hear about it if someone is bulletproof or was saved.

Fortyseven is out of the game, as indicated by the fact that there are 12 players left and he was lynched. This goes for everyone else too. Everything else is just flavour.

Well 47 was annoying.

I'd say we assume the mafia did NK but someone has a role that saved them. Did Jedi's vote tracker get updated?

I agree that it would have been helpful if Fortyseven had made more of an attempt to save himself. Losing a cop is not a great start, however on the positive side Jedi has always said this was a role heavy game so it's possible there may be another cop or a deputy out there somewhere. Similarly, as we're in a Doctor Who game I'd say there's more than a reasonable chance that there is at least 1 and maybe more doctor roles in play that might explain the lack of a night kill.

Did Psymonkee vote in the end? I think he said he was going out but would be back in time to vote, presumably the hammer came down before he got back

Can't see it on the tracking and didn't see it myself. Still only 8 posts, he's pretty inactive but I think that's just apathy, would be a risky strategy if he was mafia.

A risky strategy but only if we deem it as anti town behaviour. Otherwise he is slipping under the radar.

I wish 47 had been more forceful in his defence, would have been really helpful to have the cop still with us.

Ok, so it wouldn't be in your post, but would the person who was bulletproof know they were shot and used up their bulletproof-ness or were saved? I'm guessing yes, would be a bit weird if someone didn't know they were shot?

Shame about 47, we ended up lynching him on a pretty slim case after a day drawing out much more interesting suspects IMO.

I missed the vote after being held up at work and came home to find a result awaiting.

I'll try to post more tonight but I'm not exactly feeling well myself but I have had a change of heart...

Another question, if there is a job like the bus driver or redirector that changes the target of someone's night action, are they informed? I don't mean they are told who their new target was, but would they get told that they were redirected, or would they not know and assume that their night action carried out normally?

Either way, we have a couple of possibilities for what happened overnight. If we have a protective role, they could have blocked the night kill, or the scum didn't submit a vote. With 3 scum, it is likely that someone would have at least sent in a vote, so we can probably assume that we have some sort of protection role in play, be it doctor or someone like the jailer who can stop a kill as well.
This in itself generates some very useful information for the townies. Whoever did a protect action has to think about who they protected. We don't know how many people are able to protect, but someone managed to protect successfully, therefore the person they protected must be a townie.
That said, there is the slight spanner in the works of the redirection roles that could screw this assumption off, currently waiting on an answer from Jedit regarding if there would be a message. If there is a message to say you got redirected and you didn't get one then you know for sure.
Unless there are multiple people able to protect at night, though having too many of these would in turn make the game a little unbalanced for the town.

Lots to think about.

Finally, lets look at who voted for fortyseven.
