Malaysian GP 2009 - Race 2/17

Glock/Trulli/LH all did a great job, 5th 4th 3rd from the very back.

Need to get my alarm sorted soon, gotta decide whether I feel like watching Jake and co drivel on for an hour.

lol shut up :p

your all acting like it was some insane driving skill he got from bartering with the devil that made him finish so highly when in reality his race was nothing special but looks it if you dont take into account the failures and crashs

So, by your own words, his race looked special if you take into account the failures and crashes. And I must admit, myself and the point scoring system both take them into account..

no because people have in the past performed better, i seem to recall atleast one time where schumacher started last and won a race others have done that aswell.

they are special drives not gaining 10 places or so half of which will have been from teams with just over half of mclarens budget :p

Will Vettel get round the first lap with that fuel load, or will he have some extra fuel in his drinks bottle and top the car up? ;p If it stays dry I think Jenson will win it quite easily. If it rains - anyones game!

I think Ive discovered why you are so vehement in your misunderstanding. You mentioned earlier "insane driving skill" and now "special drives". I'm not saying nor have said this was either. It was a good solid performance from Hamilton in a car that is underperforming. You couldnt really have asked for much more in that position from your driver.

You cant deny the fact that where others left the track, Hamilton did not. Have you heard the one about the tortoise and the hare? Unfortunately they didnt have the dexterity to operate an F1 car.

Hamilton and Alonso are still the best drivers in the championship for me.

We could start our own fanboy club :p Buhamtel fanboys unite!

I'd like to see Sutil do well too, I still feel from him after he was robbed of his 4th in Monaco by Kimi's accident. Hmm.. be nice to see Kimi get back to his old self too.

LOL! Hells yeah! Who's making the sigs? :D:p

I'm not sure about Sutil. I was really rooting for him at monaco and felt so so bad for him. But otherwise he's been a bit of a non-entity. I suppose that's more down to nobody really wanting to talk to you if you're at the back in a pants car.

Kimi waking up would be nice. He's a genius when he's at his best and the more of those the better, really.

And Goksly; it's not in his drinks bottle, it's in his ballbag-bag

So, let me see, 4 hours to go.. what are my thoughts..

Button is looking good for another win, though I will happily admit that it won't be as easy as the first race, I think that Button has the maturity and more importantly the car, to fend off all but the most determined challenges.

In the case of the expected rain, we all know that it will level the playing field, though I suspect that it will bring a few surprises along the way. I have a feeling that those driving with KERS will find that the sudden application of an extra 80hp could be much more dangerous than Kimi's affinity for barrier-testing.

As for Hamilton, well I am sure that in the absence of intervention by the race officials ("oh no! Hamilton started the race! 10 Second Stop-Go penalty!!") that he could have a good race, while not performing well, the car does look relatively solid, just not up to the previous years.

Kimi, the walls beckon.

Massa, after such a blunder in qualifying, he will have a lot to prove today, expect to see him scythe through the lesser performing cars.

Trulli, I dont think he is the challenger that people expect him to be, and that he will drop back early on.

Vettel/Kubica, if they can avoid tire tangling, should be a good race, I see a podium for one of them.

Barichello, will be tough for him to claw his way back up to the top, but I do see him as being a bit of an annoyance to those following button. Brawn GP may prefer that he had been on the front row alongside Button, where he could act as a rolling wall (which after last week should be easy enough) but even coming at the competition from behind, he has potential, he has the car, he has the speed.

Overall, I expect we will have another good race, only this time, I hope that we don't get another week of changing results as the race officials try to make up their minds.

Whew, just got back from driving to Stansted airport and back (to Swindon). I was up at 2.15am so I'm a bit tired now. :(

Now crashed on the sofa eating a croissant and drinking a steaming mug of tea, ready for the race to start. The missus and little'un are now 2000 miles away so no chance of any interruptions during this race. :D

1hr 4 mins...cant bloody wait.

I see a Toyota/Brawn battle up front, this is assuming it takes Vettel a while to claw back up to the top 3-4 places and he isn't too far back time-wise by then. Not sure at all as to where the Ferrari's are going to end up, and as for Hamilton, it's pretty much make or break already at this stage. Not so much his points tally, but more his mental state for the rest of the season. If he has a howler today, I cant see him doing much for the remainder, Macca upgrades or not...

I think ferrari (if they dont barrier-test or have mechanical issues) will finish off the podium, massa will have a tough fight, but he has the drive..

Hamilton I think needs to get refocused otherwise things will go quickly downhill
