Malaysian Grand Prix 2013, Kuala Lumpur - Race 2/19

So ordering somebody to do something that fixes the result of a race is not race fixing?

Not in the same way. They had the top two positions and wanted to avoid the potential for damaging the car / limit the chances of a crash. They didn't ask them to switch position, they basically made the decision to finish the race in the way of lowest risk. Red bull took the view that both cars were very competitive and a battle would lead to a crash so told both drivers to spin down their engines a bit and take the points.

Vettel has fallen somewhat in my estimations after all this. Senna was very much the same but at least he would defend what he did and admitted to it. Vettel has just taken the pee. Perhaps that's part of what is bothering Webber. It was painful to watch his apology and how insincere it was.

When team orders were against the rules, it was to stop the deliberate switching of places. Teams telling their drivers to hold position happened regularly and wasn't treated as a breach of the rules.

That doesn't mean you are not fully entitled to be unhappy about any team orders though.

You stated in your post "Horner has stated Mark didn't turn his engine down. He had the tools to catch him"

Yes, refering to Jase's earlier post. When asked where I got that info, I referred it back to Jase's post. And every time you have chased me since I have done the same.

Don't shoot the messenger here. If your unhappy with the source then fine. Unlike most on here I don't immediately dismiss anything anyone says as BS unless there is forensic evidence. I assumed that if Jase posted that, then it had been said. If it wasn't said, fine, but don't keep persisting with your attack against me for it. Ask Jase where he got the info, as I have.

That's a little like saying a manager choosing the best penalty taker on his team to take a penalty is match fixing.

A better football analogy would be: its like a manager ordering his team to lose the match so they get the easy draw in the next round (and sadly that has actually happened before now).

No no no no you would have put his name or linked to his post in your post.
Stand up like a man and take responsibility just like vimto did ..no wait

And there was no source and other members catch you out on it. So looks like you're trolling hmmmm

More like, Fergie tells Van Persie to back off and walk the match out, as he is playing in champs league in 2 days, but instead he goes balls deep and tires himself out scoring another hat-trick. Red Bull did not order their team to lose the race.

This, this and this were all posted before I posted what you quoted.

The 'attack Skeeter regardless' is at the same level as the Vettel hate on here, getting pathetic.

No, not really as they didn't change positions with any others teams and it didn't effect any other teams.

Stop replying then! It's obvious that its Skeeter vs the rest of the regular F1 posters on this one. You having the need for the last word won't change that.

Hello guys and gals!

Need I remind you that personal attacks are not tolerated here at OcUK??

I understand people have different opinions etc but there is no need to make things personal.

Thanks

:)

I did, but then even having been told numerous times I just copied what Jase had said deuse still brings it up and accuses me of being a troll. Am I not allowed to defend myself?

I assumed Jase's post was correct. If it wasn't then thats my mistake, but it hardly makes me a troll does it?

I don't see anyone attacking you Skeeter, they are just challenging your opinion which you are repeating over and over and over so there is no need to try and turn it around into you being picked on, you have done the same to other members here countless times.

Christ, I think we actually agree on something for once!

And me :eek::D

I abhor the very idea of team orders, believing that pure driving skill should take precedence over anything else, but they're in the sport so I can't say much about it. I do think that Vettel is completely in the wrong however, if he doesn't like team orders as a whole, he should speak up outside of races, not put a mardy face on, then ignore them and take the podium from the current leader who did obey them. Fact of the matter is, team orders are here to stay, and will do so for quite a while. Don't mess up the sport by acting like a willy in the race; put a level head on, take it to the FIA, confer with other drivers and so on. That's the ONLY way team orders will ever be diminished or abolished.
