Malaysian Grand Prix 2013, Kuala Lumpur - Race 2/19

That's the difference between Hamilton and Vettel. They are both racers, but Hamilton is human and has morals. Vettel is like the new Schumacher. Extremely talented, but a complete **** at times.
The Vettel hatred is completely justified. He has made people hate him himself. If the same person keeps winning it will eventually get boring, but if it were Hamilton/Button/Insert almost anyother driver here, we wouldn't mind so much, because they aren't complete ****s.

May the best man win! if the others don't like it they need to grow a pair and do something about it. As for Hamilton being human and having morals, yeah he's a good driver but he also cries like a baby if he don't get his own way, just like he abandoned McLaren who practically raised him and made him the driver he is.

I'm actually warming to Vettel, I'd prefer to see Button or Kimi winning but Vettel obviously wants to win and fair enough to him it up to the others to stop him. Webber needs to stop moaning, out qualify vettel and then hold him off, if he can't do that then he only has himself to blame.

Do RBR still have a 'mini KERS' that doesn't run at full capacity?

Yes. I think this is what Rocky was referring to on the radio when he said "stop using KERS overtake, use regular KERS.. the system can't take it" et al.

I assume they've compromised the KERS setup for an aero advantage, so by using it all the time they risk a failure. As Webber knows more than anyone ;)

Seems like a fairly honest summary from Rosberg. I'd like to see him have a few decent results this year, another win in China would be cool.

Doesn't matter what the order was, he ignored it. Had Seb been infront and been told to yeild to Webber and refused, do you think people would think that was fine? Of course not, it would be the same pages of abuse.

And its not just Bottas. Webber ignored team orders in Brazil last year, and Silverstone a couple of years back. Both have been defended by people, when the base 'issue' is the same, ignoring team orders.

And its not just the users on here, its the wider press. While we may have only just heard about Bottas not letting Pastor through, the press knew about it. Where are the articles from past racing drivers calling for a 1 race ban for Bottas to put him in his place?

Vettel is top, he is the prime target, and people are getting bored of him winning. Therefore, people are slating him whenever possible. Its as simple as that. I mean look, we even had people try and make an issue out of the fact Vettel slowed down on the finishing straight. I mean really, are you telling me thats not just people trying to find anything they possibly can to have a go at?

This forum, and the wider F1 (British) press, have an anti Vettel bias at the moment.

Webber was robbed of his new spec front wing at Silverstone 2010 when Vimto ripped his off in a crash and RBR put Webber's on Vettel's car, so you can see why Webber was so ****** off in the press conference. You have to wonder had an incident happened before the actual race in Malaysia that Webber would be less forgiving to the team's preferences.

Its also pretty understandable why people in general would think that Mark deserved to win the race

when a deserving winner loses due to mechanical reasons, or a different team have a stronger last few laps , then thats one thing - when a team mate who has been ordered to stay at No2 shows his true colours and is a right **** , it (rightfully) rubs the general public up the wrong way

(and of course the **** has the knowledge that the team arent ever going to do anything about it, so its risk free from his perspective)

Seb was using KERS all round his pole lap so looks like they do not have mini-kers that only worked at the start.

That was rumoured initially when KERS was introduced, but was quickly denied. I don't think they've ever used KERS for the start only.

I think I remember last season they admitted they didn't use a full-power KERS unit (preferring the weight and packaging advantages a smaller device would give - Adrian Newey shocker there!) and I guess it's a similar situation this season.

I presume next season they won't have an option though as KERS (ERS) is being integrated further into the engine, so either all Renault teams have a smaller ERS boost (as Red Bull are now considered the Renault works team, despite Lotus' origin) or Red Bull will have to adopt the full system... which I'm fairly sure they would anyway, as the advantages of the more powerful ERS next season will surely outweigh the disadvantages.
