Malaysian Grand Prix 2013, Kuala Lumpur - Race 2/19

The motor and the two recovery systems (one turbo, one engine) are all built into the 'power unit' which will come as a single intergrated piece from Renault. However, the energy store, which can be battery, flywheel, or whatever, is seperate to the power unit. If RBR wanted they could take the Renault power unit and hook up a smaller battery.

But given that the ERS next year is not just a bolt on and instead becomes an integral part of the car providing 160bhp for a large chunk of the lap, I cant see them doing anything other than using it to the maximum. Having a low powered ERS next year would be a major disadvantage.

Rosbergs never really had a decent car and this year looks like his first season with a decentish car so I'm not sure we've seen his full potential yet.

Rosberg speaks fluent German, English, Italian, Spanish and French but only a little Finnish, though he is learning the language.

He's got all bases covered for if he ever switchs teams LOL

Finnish isn't easy. Most of the younger generation in Finland (and the other Scandinavian countries) speak good English anyway.

Is it 16 engines per team or 8 per driver?

If they could get away with it, they'd probably give Seb Mark's engine >__>

Theoretically, if they could....you would see this board implode in a mixture of murder/rape analogies, rage, hate, exasperation and a lone board member taking on the masses :p

I actually was more annoyed by Vettel apologising for doing it. If you defy orders clearly intentionally during the race, you should stick by it and say "I am racing for me, and thats my top priority"
By backing down after the event he just looks like a spineless wet rag unwilling to stand up for his beliefs.
The best drivers in history were out for their own benefits and did what it took and made no excuses for it.

Bring it! :p

I agree. At least when Webber did it he stuck by it and was open about doing it because he wanted to win. Although I do still think he chickened out right at the end when he could have made the pass.

He still did it in the first place - what he said after is academic. I'm happy he did it too. Truth is I couldn't stand Vettel. But now I like him because of this. I hope we see more of the same.

Watching MW with his big puppy eyes, practically sobbing "multi 21" was priceless.

I think Nico should have passed LH too. Screw team orders :p:D

Nico did pass Hamilton, twice. He even admits in his blog he didn't get the double DRS zone right, which any fool could see, so I'm not really sure what was going on there.

You really think that? Surely you can see it shows weakness, lack of fortitude and a lack of character.
Tell me you would not carry more respect for him had he come out and stood by what he did?

Hasn't it been said that it was decided before the race? If he had a problem with it surely he should have mentioned it then, it's one thing to be against it fully but another to be alright when it benefits and then be agaisnt it when it doesn't in my opinion.

Vettel seems to have the ruthlessness of other drivers but he also seems bothered by what people think of him and tries hard to be liked. Those two qualities don't work so well together.

Surely going past one another in the DRS zones is too their advantage?

It gave a slightly quicker lap time due to having it open. I Can't see it using any more fuel unless opening the DRS also boosts engine map/revs?

its an interesting comparison to say vettel is ruthless like some of the great drivers of the past, but is there any room for someone like that in todays f1, the sport has changed a lot i'm sure since those days.

If anyone has an autosport sub the mechanics diary is quite interesting, whoever writes it mentions how anyone in the team would be rightly pee'd off at what vettel did, risking everyone elses hard work, bonus money, etc etc all for himself, and were it anyone else in the team they wouldnt be back for the next race, so why should the driver be different. Given how much of their life these folk dedicate to the job, how much time they sacrifice, you could imagine how pee'd off they would be if someone put the rewards for that at risk.
