Man raped his dying stepdaughter

But the rape victim still feels the pain and the dead person is free from any more pain. I'd say they are equally as bad crimes after thinking about it. Loss of life is tragic but at least they don't have to live with their pain. Rape is tragic and they have to live with their pain but they might be lucky to be alive. I think we could go round in circles for a long time. Safe to say they are both devistating crimes.

They are both terrible, but I do think there is a great difference in the fact that a rape victim has the chance and indeed the choice to move on and get on with their life, whereas a dead person has no further opportunity for anything.

100% of dead people never enjoy anything again.
<100% of rape victims never enjoy anything again.

There's something dodgy about that news article, not sure what though :\

Lord Philip said: "Instead of looking after her and being concerned for her condition and seeking medical help, you took advantage of her complete helplessness and raped her when she was in a state of complete unconsciousness."
Then it says
It found she had horrific injuries consistent with being raped with considerable force.
But I thought she was unconscious, how would she have fought back?

I think this is taken out of proportion. I expect he thought his annoying step-daughter was just drunk again the stupid girl, might as well "give her a seeing to". Obviously raping a child is not right but I don't think she could have been gushing blood from her jugular at the same time.

She could have incurred internal injuries consistent with rape without fighting back....

Horrific story really.

If you can't figure out how it's possible to rape someone with "considerable force" then I suspect you are not all that well versed sexually. It's quite possible to hurt someone even when you're being nice and gentle and careful. I dread to think what you could do if you were being careless and rough.

Oh Jesus Christ don't be pathetic!

Whatever. Your comments suggested something of a lack of understanding of the matter in question. Or was it the implication that you might be a virgin that you're rolleyesing me for?

To be fair, the actual error you made was assuming that she could only sustain injuries from fighting back, which really makes no sense.

Anyway.

Haha, I'm "rolleyesing" you for being so puerile as to "accuse" someone of being a virgin! Have you recently lost your own virginity and are looking for a way to show off your recently found machoness?

I made the original comment because to me it didn't seem to add up. It says he took her upstairs to his bed which to me would probably mean a less vicious and rushed assault than say, grabbing someone in an alley. Either way, the court has found him guilty and it's hardly nice nor appropriate to discuss the intracicies of such an event. The whole act was disgusting and wrong but as is the case with most news articles, it's very hard to get the whole story.

Awful, despicable crime.

I can't quite believe that some people on this thread are arguing over which is the worst crime - Murder or Rape!

Seems like a valid question to me fozzybear. I'm not sure what I find more distressing to be honest.
