Manchester Bombing *** Please remain respectful and refrain from antagonising posts ***

"Manchester Bombing ‘Twitter Prediction’ Hours Before Arena Attack Sparks Frenzy Of Debate"

As for the so called freelance writers sense of humour, he deleted one of these tweets after getting (rightly) thrown to the wolves for it, but is now claiming insight with "And now I have a small insight of what Donald Trump must deal with on a regular basis #ImpeachTrump"

His original tweet was at best spectacularly poor judgement, but more likely just a disgusting, base callousness. It wasn't even close to witty, either. If hels comparing the response to how Trump gets treated perhaps he'll make the connection and realise that it's because he too is an unpleasant and emotionally retarded person. He's not going to shake off that one, easily.

Another sick act.

Can someone explain to me though why it's worse when it's against children than, say, innocent nurses or taxi drivers or hairdressers? None of these people have done anything to deserve their deaths or injuries.

They're all innocents :(

Plays on the emotional response more with people when it's children.

Very saddened to see the news this morning, as a parent of a young child I cant imagine what some families are going through.

It's fortunate we live in a world where this isn't in acceptable, but it's a stark reminder that there is people still out there that see this as a rational thing to do - what brings someone to do such a thing?

I wish all of those directly impacted the very best, although I know I wouldn't be able to control myself if I was one of those people.

The term innocent when used in respect of children is not in the criminal sense. It is that they are innocent from the world and what goes on. Depending on the age, they haven't reached a stage of holding bad intentions or discriminative opinions. They rely on adults to look after them and meet their needs. They are not able to fully look after themselves. Thus, when adults commit these horrendous attacks on children, it is all the more worse.

There is also another element of the emotive chords it strikes on individuals when it is children who are attacked. That is due to many psychological and social factors which I can't do justice explaining right now.

a lot of people on this forum feign ignorance to protect their narrative. We have seen it time and time again with these things.
I wouldnt worry about it too much, it was blindlingly obvious what was going down within a few hours based on countless reports and stories, yet here it was all roses and just simple balloons popping.

That's just rubbish. It was looking pretty obvious it was an explosion within an hour of the event, but multiple reports were still coming over the news, from eyewitnesses and from people posting who had heard from people inside the event that it might have been something more innocuous like a speaker or balloons.

It's just the confusion that goes on when everyone starts posting up what they know - which even if you are there, can be pretty much nothing if you didn't directly see anything. No-one on here was trying to deflect anything.....well apart from Combat Squirrel.....I'm not sure what he was smoking last night

just simple balloons popping.

Actually this is what was told by many at the event and even to the point of speakers blowing, because it was to calm the situation down and stop mass panic. You can clearly hear in videos a woman go " But it's just a balloon ". The last thing you need with so many screaming children in a packed area is someone say " IT's a bomb, everyone RUN ". ( Different being outside of course )

That's just rubbish. It was looking pretty obvious it was an explosion within an hour of the event, but reports were coming over the news and from people posting who had heard from people inside the event that it might have been something more innocuous like a speaker or balloons.

Again, this was from people trying to calm the situation down

I don't think it matters who carried out the atrocity, it could have been white racist bob from down the road, ISIS will always try and claim responsibility anyway!

My absolute condolences to those affected, it has really upset me that once again this has happened :(

Horrible news to wake up to this morning :(

Can anyone shed light into how this guy made or got these explosives I thought there was a watch on gathering of explosive material following the bombings in London many years ago?

It's a tragedy regardless, but protecting children is one of the most basic, if not the most basic, drives of humanity. Children are our future. They have not yet decided who they will be, have not had opportunity to change the world yet for good or bad. There is no person less unfair to suffer consequences or blame than a child. We can understand war regrettably. We can sort of understand revenge even when it's misguided, at least to an extent. Someone who lacks the instinct to protect children is an aberration and a monster. What sort of mind can target children?

From what I know it's very easy if you know what your doing, using very easy to get hold of items.

Horrible news!! Children caught up in all this, can't imagine go the parents would be feeling at this time... RIP to the people who have lost their lives :(

My 8 year old daughter's school friend was at the concert. I didn't think I'd be too far removed from someone directly affected. Hopefully she's ok.

One of my staff hasn't come in today as she was there and didn't get back till about 2 this morning.

She's fine, but I've heard she saw the explosion on her way out, sounds like she was a lucky girl

I'm surprised no one has claimed responsibility yet. These days ISIS claims every attack pretty much straight away.
