Manchester Bombing *** Please remain respectful and refrain from antagonising posts ***

There should be media embargos for this sort of thing on the 24 hour news networks, give the facts on the evening news and that's it. While ever terrorist incidents like this are being given so much detailed attention as though they're some kind of crime drama the perpetrators will continue to do it and lap up the attention.

If that were to happen the conversation about the incident would go like " Did you here on the news about that bomb in Manchester?" " Yeah Terrible!" and then people would move on... The way it is now brings more people together to condemn these actions

On 5 live we've just been told by a government advisor that this is the normal and we should get used to it.

Ffs so we should get used to our children getting slaughtered in the streets.

I'm going to be a farther in 4 months time if this is the norm to be I don't think I want to live in this country anymore.

Condemning the actions.... how does this help in any shape or form.

All it does as it stands is cause speculation, and sell papers.

The media are out of control, simple as that.

Man it's so sad reading all the reports on BBC looking for updates about their friends and family and wanting information about them.

It must be heartbreaking for those parents and families who have lost a loved ones over the last few hours. I can't imagine how those who are still searching or waiting waiting in hope that those they love have not been taken by this evil act of cowardice. Lets hope that the injuries inflicted on these families don't take any more lives in the coming hour/days/weeks.

My aunts lad and his girlfriend were there last night. Fortunately they were some distance away from the events so came home safely. They were still shaking when they got home after midnight and haven't slept a wink.

Oh please, it was normal in the 70`s & early 80`s and the minister is correct.

Bad stuff happens, you look at the bad stuff try and fix and carry on a little bit wiser than before. Nothing more.

Well the UK is as statistically safer to live in that it has ever been. Let's not go overboard here, you have a far higher chance of being run over by a car. This is a horrific incident, but we need perspective. Where do you intend to move to anyway? The Arctic?

We're talking about protecting someone's family after he's decimated other people's. Where did this person have any regard for any other innocent life, yet we should give him that respect and protection, interesting.
you're not giving him respect and protection but rather his family who may be entirely innocent of his actions.

I was born in Macclesfield a town just south of Manchester, and have lived and worked in and around Manchester all my life really.

The spirit of the people is something that cannot be broken, for all the silly troubles and tensions over the years that have happened.... when something attacks it the city stands tall and helps no questions asked.

If you think Manchester is made weak by this then think again.... we lick our wounds and get up and we stand proud for the place we all love. The spirit of the city is not one of revenge, of attacking back.... because at our heart we are kind of people who drop everything and rush to help those who need it.... i have seen countless times over the years that this is true in day to day life.

Those small acts of selfless kindness when its so easy to just look and walk away and think "not my problem"... in Manchester that rarely happens, people gather around and muck in and just get on with what needs to be done. And this will NEVER EVER change!

The north west as a whole will pull together, Liverpool...Leeds.... Stockport.... we ALL stand united! No one will break what we are, and we are proud to be who we are!

RIP

so people in manchester just sit back and do nothing then?

Condemning them won't stop anything though and all the excessive reporting does is scare people into not attending such events in the future. The losers who planned this atrocity will probably get a high from all of the coverage and like drug addicts and gamblers keep lookiing for the next high.

Most people are too busy getting on with their lives to visit social media for every last detail, it's only because 24 hour news has become like a form of live entertainment that people watch it and swallow every last detail.

If had quite a few job offers in New Zealand and Australia.
I haven't heard of any attacks in New Zealand.

But I don't like the attitude of get used to it.

I'm sure condemnation is really valuable to those that were brutally murdered.

To be fair am not sure there is a huge threat of terrorist attacks in Bridgend either, although NZ would be a far nicer place to live (mind the earthquakes)
