Ignoring the red card because to me that's quite cut and dry but the penalty; did he seem to go down quite easily.. Yep. Did he get a clip on the ankle.. Yep I don't think it's the going down that creates the foul. The kick did, after that it's for the ref.

I can't believe people are questioning Rafael's challenge, he stayed up, won the ball, didn't catch any of the player, certainly didn't follow through and catch the player and remained upright from the start to the end of the challenge.

Hopefully United slot another few past LIVERPOOL just to dispel any delusions that their current state is anything to do with luck. Although I have a feeling no matter what happens the ref/injuries/quality of parking at Old Trafford will weigh in heavily when scousers revist the match.

One thing that I notice watching that replay is that Webb actually has his back to the Gerrard foul and doesn't actually turn to look until after the tackle. On the replay it looks like a red, but hard to know how Webb knew that as he wasnt watching. Also notice on those replays that the linesman didn't give the penalty despite being in a better position to see.

Again Webbs only consistency is being inconsistently performing between awful and diabolical

should have been banned,fined and dropped from the national team. Worst foul I have ever seen. Even if he won the ball and made no contact it would still be a red for going in like that.
