All that says is, we have a player who over exaggerates contact and that berbatov still dived, completely seperate incidents and each should be assessed on individual merit, completely pointless arguement.

Contact made in the match yesterday, no contact made on Saint Stevie in some of the others. Glass houses and all that

Yea because the next time Utd are on the wrong end of a dive we won't here any Utd fans whining about it? And if we do you'll be posting some clips of that diving hypocrite Rooney? ;)

edit: In Webb's last 6 games at OT he's awarded Utd 4 penalties, all of which were hugely controversial at best :o

In which case a red would be fair if he caught him square. But he got to the ball first.

I think that the fact Gerrard didn't give any response to Webb following the card was proof enough he knew he was going as soon as he made the challenge.

Saying that, Tubb's two footer on Savage tonight was probably worse.

Contact was minimal to non existent and berba took another few steps.
Anyhoo, coming back with 'Gerrard dives', is completely irrelevant, it does not make it fair for berbatov to do it and each match/incident is treated separately. He cheated, we have reason to whine.

He took one more step and was off balance, at the time I didn't think it was a penalty and straight after when they showed it but if you look at where Webb is he couldn't have known how much contact there was.

Your defender shouldn't have even been sticking a leg out anyway, he was going nowhere. Asking for trouble dangling a leg in the box.

Is this the make **** up method of analysing decisions?

Agger makes contact, Berbatov's left ankle buckles and he goes down instead of at least attempting to continue his stride which most agree he could have. He certainly doesn't take a few steps then go down.

There was contact. ANY contact can send you off balance and that gives you a reason to go down. 'Another few steps' Laughable, watch it again!

Berbatov was not in a particularly dangerous position and Agger was really, really stupid.

Blame Agger, Berbatov didn't cheat. When Gerrard dives, he goes flying through the air with ZERO contact most of the time. Massive difference :)

Yep it was an awfully stupid challenge by Agger, but Berbatov felt the touch, hesitated and then threw himself down to the ground, it was a dive, at the same time it is also taking advantage of a situation. In my opinion there's a lot worse going on in the game, but that was a dive worthy of Steven Gerrard

He didn't throw himself to the ground, if your leg gets clipped at speed and you try to carry on, very rarely will the clipped leg be in a position to make firm contact with the ground. Berba said that he lost his balance, which is generally what happens when you lose the ability to step on one of your feet properly.

Ok, just had another look at it, the foot that is touched goes on to take another step and he falls over after yet another step with his right foot. He's dived, while it's admirable that Man Utd fans will try and defend him, he takes two steps after the contact then goes to ground :/

Not to mention the contact is absolutely minimal and not really what you'd consider enough to flatten a child never mind a professional athlete
