Mantle Feedback/Bugs

I dunno on the right hand side of the image its showing a lot difference (the 2nd lamp post might have been blown up or something) but still I'm not convinced its rendering all the same stuff properly until I see proof otherwise.
that lamp post may be broke and toppled by somebody PLUS that SoS map is foggy to start with WHEN the tower collapses and TO ME the OP cherry picked the time of SS so that Dx has a dissolved fog/ash residue up hanging in the air which means collapse happened way before, AND for Mantle tower collapsed recently and there is fog/ash building material hanging up in the air more CAUSING all the "Mantle is foggier" talks. The point that he is looking at the collapsed tower's direction makes me very cynical. This level in general has fog descending randomly, so if there are more SS for other levels then bring it on...
 
A senior moderator at oc.net actually posted some crossfire 290 figures. Guess what? He overclocked his i7 6 core cpu as well. This ones for andybird/Kaap.

Are you referring to my post/screenshot or a different forum?

We already covered this (the lamp post/changes aspect) :S

Also multiple screenshots from different users on different forums with the tower still up also show fog starting much earlier (closer) with Mantle and causing complete occlusion much earlier with some people suggesting that its not rendering the stuff behind the fog hence the performance increase.

Not really, I'm just not going to take a Dice employee's word for it that its not having a performance implication until I see actual proof (as its not an uncommon way to implement distance culling/fog) given the state BF4 is in generally I really don't think they know what they are talking about half the time.

If Mantle does what it says it will do and is a sucess I will still applaud it even though its a little distasteful to me heh. However so far they aren't doing a great job of convincing me anything has changed at AMD.
 
Ok i managed to fix it.

had to reinstall Drivers after a complete driver wipe.

Played with crossfire fine for 10 mins then game crashed.

But those 10 mins were the smoothest i have ever felt in BF4

What settings are people using on a 4770k and a 290p ingame? I just clicked the ULTRA setting and left it at that, earlier playing on a TDM Lockers map with 64 people i was averaging around 55fps, felt smooth but those fps figures seem low to me? not 100% sure though as until today ive never had the fps showing on the screen lol.

Going to run it now in DX first and then Mantle to see if theres much difference.

I've got a 290X, but I'd imagine a 290 wouldn't differ all that much. I'm running Ultra and with Mantle it rarely drops below 100 in 64p servers. Incredible performance, beyond what I expected considering my setup (sig). I've not experienced any crashes, like some have mentioned. Only get the odd random spike, but it occurs for a fraction of a second that it is tolerable.

I have overclocked the card though.

What resolution are you playing at? (I'm at 1080p (120Hz))
 
Ok mines all at stock, just run a quick go on Lockers 64 man, in DX was saying 64fps at spot i like to stand in on the map, enabled Mantle now and going back to the same spot and the fps are pretty much identical, 66fps in Mantle.
 
Seriously guys, this is a massive fail of a launch. The one chance AMD get to showcase and they release a fogged/crashing/broken driver for the one game they have had 2 years? to get right. What a let down.
